    I think there is some way to minimize damage more than that, since it is level 70 content, it shouldn't need whole pt of hp 4200+. (that is HP from turn-5 coil level)

    because even if you can share damage, 7000 x 4 = 28,000 hp, and divide by 7 person (if all go together), still 4,000 damage to 1 person. Although most of pt choose to let DPS suicide, and raised back with whm LB3. I think it isn't the right method SE decide for.

    Actually its 7000 damage / by the number of players absorbing the explosions. So if 6 players absorb it you each only take about 1k depending on the people, buffs and group comp. When you see aetheric boom being cast group up, WHM casts Medica 2 and Scholar casts galvanize and you can easily take them all as a group. Just trigger one after the other. Tanks can CD them too if they aren't on Ultima and can make it really easy.

    I agree, this fight is just a pain in the ass as a healer since you're pretty much running 90% of the time. Really the only way to win is if DPS avoid everything avoidable, as there's barely any opportunities to heal the tank, DPS really can't get any attention outside of AoE heals.

    Thank you all for you help and information! I'll be updating more info as my company is finally free tomorrow and so I'm not stuck with pugs and we'll be blasting through Garuda tomorrow.

    When Spiny Plumes spawn in EX Garuda, it always fixates onto a random player. That player has very high aggro on the Spiny Plume and aggro can't be taken off with conventional means. It must be Provoked.

    Once it's Provoked, the original person is still very high on the aggro list and can still pull it back. Provoke alone won't secure aggro, since something as little as popping a self-buff after Provoke can potentially raise his aggro higher than the tank.

    Tanks should take extra caution when the original target is a healer since healing enmity can easily re-aggro the Plume. After Provoke, Tanks should hit the plume with something that generates high enmity ASAP to secure it. Flash works well to build enmity if the Plume's HP is dangerously low.

    When someone (usually a tank) is ready to have the Spiny Plume Provoked off of him, he should hold off from using any self-buffs for at least a second or two to allow the Provoking tank to hit the Plume at least once.

    Your original post pretty much covered it. But I can say that having 3 ranged dps and 1 melee worked out pretty good.
