Ultima is timed so in other words the fight is a DPS race if you take too long he will cast ultima and one shot the PT. With enough DPS you can win without him doing ultima so that is how you survive. The fight is pretty much a dodge fest and DPS race.

Forgot to mention you are correct first magitek bits the rockets target the inside so you run to the outside. For the second magitek bits the rockets target the outside so everyone has to run to the middle to take less damage.

Phase one abilities:

Garuda will appear and cast a cone AoE on a almost half of the arena. This ability will deal approximately 1.7k to 2k to anyone in range.
At the same time, Ultima will use Vulcan Burst right when Minstrel Shriek is a about to go off. This deals around 450 to 600 damage and causes a knockback (Same as the ifrit fight.)
Using these two abilities in sucession, it is possible to be knocked into Garuda's AoE. Be wary of your position.

Ultima will also use Eye of the Storm, al la Garuda, and you must move to the center area of the arena. Do not collapse into he center though. After the wind dies down, Titan will fall from the sky and do Geocrush. You take damage from Geocrush based on how close you are to the epicenter, and at max range, you can take as little as 425 damage from this.

Question about the 4 orb, 8 orb thing. Is suicide kamikaze is the right way to deal with it?
I think there is some way to minimize damage more than that, since it is level 70 content, it shouldn't need whole pt of hp 4200+. (that is HP from turn-5 coil level)

because even if you can share damage, 7000 x 4 = 28,000 hp, and divide by 7 person (if all go together), still 4,000 damage to 1 person. Although most of pt choose to let DPS suicide, and raised back with whm LB3. I think it isn't the right method SE decide for.

Actually its 7000 damage / by the number of players absorbing the explosions. So if 6 players absorb it you each only take about 1k depending on the people, buffs and group comp. When you see aetheric boom being cast group up, WHM casts Medica 2 and Scholar casts galvanize and you can easily take them all as a group. Just trigger one after the other. Tanks can CD them too if they aren't on Ultima and can make it really easy.

Yup, think of UW casting Ultima as an enrage timer in Coil. Burn him down quickly enough and he never even bothers trying to cast it. If you have him at 10% health and he still hasn't ported to the center yet, LB him down if you still have your LB.

Crap...If only I knew this sooner. I indirectly caused a wipe during a good run because of it. I was keeping LB3 thinking he'd do the same thing where we had to nuke him down when he starts casting it. I should have just used it...

so how do you get those items for the new lv90 weapons? does each primal just drop one to everyone in party after you defeat it (once a week) or is it actually random?

You get an item as part of the quest, I haven't done Ifrit yet but I imagine that afterwards you'll turn them all in, get the notes from Rowena, and pick your weapon. Pick up quest for next week and repeat.

you dont get one after defeating garuda ex, thats all i can say after some kills of her

some ppl say that you get them once you killed all 3 of them after some quests
