PS3 auto run feature.

L1 functions:

Auto run
Switching target (L1+R2/L2)
Zooming in/out

you must have mis-read much of what Rein-Yagami has said. your response suggests a rather low level of intelligence.

also you can draw/sheathe your weapon with L1+R1.



and as per update 2.1...

The following changes have been made to gamepad/controller controls:

You can now scroll through the enmity list using LB/L1 + up/down on the direction buttons.
You can now scroll through the alliance list using LB/L1 + right/left on the direction buttons.





but even still... the L2/R2 buttons are by far the most used on any traditional/default configuration.

I was wondering why my auto-run gets stuck sometimes. I use the crap out of it, but it doesn't happen often. I can think of 2-3 situations since the patch where I ALMOST ran into the enemies before the tank. It obviously gets stuck sometimes, but doesn't seem to be as dramatic a situation for me as it is for the rest of you on here.

Personally, I'd rather the auto run feature be unbindable from the controller (along with other things like First Person view). With the L1 button being used for more than just Auto run, it is fairly annoying when you end up autorunning off a cliff when you actually wanted to zoom out or perform some other action that required L1 key to be pressed.

I am guessing I am only one NOT having this problem XD But i use my PS4 controller though ever since i got myself a PS4.

The biggest problem with the PS3 (and Controller on PC) auto run feature is that the directional controls change when you activate it. It switches from camera relative (where pushing left on the control stick moves you left from the direction the camera facing) to steering (where left makes your character turn to the left, independent of whatever your camera is looking at). If you intend to make this change, you can make the mental adjustment to handle the different control style. However, the biggest problem is accidentally engaging auto-run where you're not prepared for the different control style. In this case, your immediate reaction is to pull back on the control stick, which works with the normal control scheme. But with auto-run it now just turns you and sends you off running in some unexpected direction. If auto-run just kept the same, normal camera relative control style instead of switching things up on us, this would be much less of a problem.

TLDR: do not switch control styles when engaging auto-run on a Controller (PS3 or PC).

The issue for me isn't the feature, it's that the feature was broken after a patch (2.1 I believe). Instead of the auto-run only turning on when the button is tapped, the auto-run will often turn on even if you hold down the button to adjust the camera. Any news on this break being addressed?

I would imagine this would apply for PC too, in much the same way as the PS4 version will fully support KB&M.

don't get me wrong. i am grateful for the disable option.

but this not a solution. this is not a fix. it is a work around.


i hope SE will not wipe this under the rug.
