Here's your simple solutions:
1.Don't put auto-run on the most used button for this game.
2.Option to disable it.
3.Put it on R3 and whoever likes to go first person for some reason have them fully zoom in to enter first person mode.
4.Don't be a pleb.
Simple rebuttals to your "solutions":
1. Most used button for this game is R2 and L2 (by default)
2. Yep, Option to disable would be nice, or just not press L1 maybe guys? come on~
3. L1+R3 is Mousepad mode for Ps3~ next we'll get complains that activating mousepad causes auto-run and the whole circle starts again
4. Who's being a pleb? Every single button on the ps3 controller is used by atleast ONE function~ wherever they relocate it to, there will be problems and calls for moving it again~
besides guys~ leaving the default R2/L2 config, I've never accidentally activated auto-run~

1.You never zoom in/out?
2.Refer to 1.
3.Who said anything about pressing L1+R3 to auto run.
L1 functions:
Auto run
Switching target (L1+R2/L2)
Zooming in/out

you must have mis-read much of what Rein-Yagami has said. your response suggests a rather low level of intelligence.
also you can draw/sheathe your weapon with L1+R1.
and as per update 2.1...
The following changes have been made to gamepad/controller controls:
You can now scroll through the enmity list using LB/L1 + up/down on the direction buttons.
You can now scroll through the alliance list using LB/L1 + right/left on the direction buttons.
but even still... the L2/R2 buttons are by far the most used on any traditional/default configuration.
