I did it yesterday with a party from the duty finder roulette, I'm item level 68. The more you damage her the more adds that appear. Kill the adds quickly and make sure healers heal siren song else you get confused. When she has about 30% hp left she summons a bunch of zombie adds. Use a mage LB and clear them and boom you get a random lvl 60 item. ^_^

That seems to be a trend with the new dungeons: the faster you deal damage the harder the fight becomes. Against Symond, he summons hounds at certain percents of his HP. Against Siren, the same mechanic applies. Same for the first boss of Haukke HM. I wonder if SE was doing this to either discourage speed-running, or simply make it harder?

We went with almost full ilvl90 and downed siren first time so.... ;P

Im pretty sure it requires a good healer topping peoples off, beyond that i didnt understand what was happening but it wasnt hard.

Required i48, as does the duty roulette therefore unequipping gear to que dodge this dungeon does not work and unfortunately with requirements that low u get a lot of scrub players. Though I did manage to beat this dungeon I'm leaving if it ever pops for me again, 30 min penalty is worth it to dodge a potential 90 min fail.

I've been to Pharos 3 times using roulette. First time we were all new to it and we got to Siren with 15 mins left. Didn't kill her because of the wipes but still came close. It was more of a learning experience. The 2nd time I had a good party and we killed her with no wipes. The 3rd time, which happened to be earlier tonight, the war and I were the only ones with relic weapons. The drg had garudas spear and maybe 3 dl. The whm had less then 3k hp, 2 dl, and some 47 gear. We died on the first boss three times and twice on the damn bird. Got to siren with 20 mins left. She dropped us once and despite all that we still kicked her ass. In my opinion the hard part is killing the sergents before they grab the healer. When she flys off the screen I tend to run to the center anyway. If she charges I try to avoid it, unlikely, but Id rather not be charmed. Not that I'm dangerous as a charmed smn. All I do is hit people with a book :P
This dungeon isn't extremely hard, the problem is it's new and most people haven't learned it yet. Every time I go to pharos, copperbell, or hauke manor I always get one person saying "I'm new" I don't have a problem with that. We were all newbs at one point but I'm mentioning it to give an example of how often it's happened to me. When you do any dungeon or boss fight for the first time your going to mess up. I also blame SE for this dungeons difficulty vs the rewards. I think the gear this place drops is not as good as the gear you should be wearing when you go to the place. We had some trouble with the adds. The relic war was dmging the boss pretty fast. I would have my add dead or near death but the drg couldn't kill his add fast enough. Wasn't a fair contest really. I had relic, two af2, 1 alleghan, and the rest was df. I don't believe you "should" have you relic in order to go here but it would certainly help :P

I had a roulette group one shot the dungeon. It was the 2nd walk through for most of us, 1st time for the blm.

    Party setup :
    WAR
    WHM
    BLM
    MNK

    Gear :
about 2/3 ilvl90 on each player

    Keys to winning :
1st boss place him well, move out from aoe, stun when needed, tank adds, have good dps (or die).
2nd boss ignore eggs, or kill just a few. When the boss starts flying, the tank goes far from the group. Dps adds asap.
3rd boss gather in the boss back, so the tank can grab adds with overpower (flash?)
Siren : stun lunatic crap, tank adds as much as you can (overpower works great), save LB for last round, where more adds start spawing. Also be sure to avoid both the rush a la ifrit and the aoe from mid.

So yes, there's absolutely no way a fresh 50 group will beat this dungeon. It's both a matter of stuff and experience, because for 1st boss and siren in the end you need some badass dps and great synch with team.

And also, GL beating siren with 2 melee DD

Got a tip from a WHM in my free company I wanted to pass along. Charm effect is removed when the character effect reaches max hp. So you can heal away a charm or precasted regen hope that is helpful.

I havnt been rushing through 2.1 and just did pharos now, was pretty worried after seeing these threads popping up, but as usual it was an overreaction, the group was whm86 war83 brd57 drg59, we wiped once because no one told me to heal the person to get rid of the debuff
Went back in spiritbonding gear and was faster cos no wipes, its just another case of knowing where to stand.

It fills the learning curve gap quite well too, there is a clear progression route of Wp> Ak> Cm> Hm> Ps> chimera> hydra, siren has similarities to hydra so you can even regard it as a preperation fight..
