Because allowing 1vs1 in pvp would open a whole new can of worms in terms of balancing etc. That would be too much work at the moment when they are not sure how pvp will be accepted by the community.

 
			
			
				1) Don't feel bad for monks we get a move that instantly grants us 3 stacks of greased lightning and pacifies everyone for 5 seconds
2) Earn 3 AP... put it in the PvP trait that allows you to remove status aliments or have your healer do his job
3) monks have 2 stuns and if they sprint ... well i sprint right after them and use a tp regen move... also monks have an active skill that can give them increased movement speed
4) your connection issue?
5) can't say much for bards... must kill more to build larger sample size
6) sure why not
7) meh
8) 60 seconds and we'll call it a deal

Since you seem to have a problem with my analogy here is the slightly longer version of my first post in this thread:
You just took a quick bite of a new feature just introduced around 2 hours ago. You will most likely not have anything unlocked no pvp gear etc. Yet you make a post "things wrong with pvp" while you are still inexperienced and didn't get to dig in all the nooks and crannies of the pvp system.
