Did you read that part? or did you actually not read anything. I just cant comprehend how you are pitting an argument over something that was already explained in the article.
Again, what they've stated is what they HOPE their games will look like. The problem is that this doesn't reflect reality; the footage shows what the games look like on the PS3 and Xbox 360, NOT the Wii U. In order to actually show that the Wii U was capable of displaying that kind of imagery, they would actually have to use the Wii U's hardware, NOT the PS3 or 360's, to generate the images, which they didn't. Unless Reggie drives a Delorean with a flux capacitor, all he and the rest of Nintendo are doing right now is dreaming of what things will be like in the year 2013.

Accepting their explanation that "This is what games will look like" is nothing more than blind faith.

BTW, I heard that Becky was cheating on Darren. I heard it from Sandra, so it's TOTALLY legit. Let's gossip some more!

It also have a blue ray and can play 1080p

Now i don't know jack about console only computer seeing as am a computer repair.

Note i post this to show you the specs to see if you think this could run FFXIV who knows maybe it can more then the ps3 but maybe not.
PC specs and Console specs are completely different. Console use a totally different architecture and it's hardware is 100% dedicated to the games it runs as opposed to PCs where the hardware is running the OS and other things along with the game.

These specs are not very specific... all IBM said is that they made the CPU and it's base on 45nm chip and it's multicore. (did they say it's 3 cores? i don't remember seeing that) as for the GPU the r700 series is not confirmed i think it was a rumor but it could be... we will find out later on.

They probably didnt give any specific numbers as they don't mean much to most of us, you really need to start developing on the machine to see what it is really capable of.

Also, if that is only their hopes and dreams, they wouldn't have used that footage. That'd be false advertising, and you'd have to be a dipshit if you think any major video game company thinks that is okay.
Sony always does false advertising. Remember kill zone 2 at E3? the game itself is very far off from what they showed as gameplay footage. Even with the PS2 when they announced it, they claimed it would be able to output graphics like the Toy Story 2 movie... right.

But Nintendo doesn't have an history of lying about their Console's specs or what it can do so i think it is pretty safe to claim the WII U will do at least what the PS3 and 360 can do. Maybe even more as some dev said it was more powerful then these 2 systems but these are unconfirmed rumors...

Putting aside if it's a good idea or not for now, there are two basic questions that can be answered:

Is it possible to put FFXIV on the Wii U?

Yes. The new console features processing and memory capabilities at least on par with the XBox 360 and PS3, if not exceeding them. How do we know this? Because if they did not, EA would not have given them such a level of attention as to show it's support in person at their press conference, discussing the topic of highly polished games in high definition. The Wii U is certainly capable of accommodating FFXIV's graphical and processing demands. But...

Is it a priority for Square Enix?

Right now, probably not. As represented by the fact that the PS3 release has been held back due to placing priorities on overhauling the game in its Windows state, the creation of a Wii U port has probably gone no further than nudging Yoshi-P's mind along the lines of "that sounds like a cool platform - I might look into it once we have the time."

So if we were to ask Squeenix if FFXIV is coming to the Wii U, we'd probably get their generic and broad answer of "We will consider it." And that's as far as we'll get for the next 12 months.

Disclaimer: I am a shameless Nintendo fanboy. I would LOVE to see this game on Wii U, but I'm trying to look at this from Squeenix's corporate perspective, which is ultimately who would make the decision.

I don't demonstrate my martial arts skills by having a friend show off his moves and then saying "Yeah, I can do that too."

Disclaimer: I can totally do anything Chuck Norris can do.

Ok? and they did show off what their console can do

    it's right here....

This runs on the WII U.

As for the games, the dev just got dev kits a few months ago, they dont have anything to show off yet so since Nintendo KNOWS their system is as good as the PS3 and the 360, they decided to show footage from these systems as it will be the same once it is released on the WII U. I hope you don't really think a company like Nintendo has no idea of what their own creation can do... it would make no sense if you believed that..

If its as powerful as the PS3 and/or X360 then it will probably have an ATI R770, with that kind of GPU and a multi-core processor, the system will be a beast. One of the biggest things this controller will do for RPGs is to have a continual menu screen at all times (one less button to push to get to what you want is progress in the development world). Even if it were only the menu screen, I would probably get XIV on the WiiU, I'd finally sell my Xbox360 (pos imo), and be quite happy with my Nintensony duo.

To make a general note about the online experience: Battlefield 3 is coming to the system, so I would assume that the multiplayer and online experience will HAVE to be easier to use (get rid of those damn Friend Codes; or at least have a way to disable them)

I would have loved to hear MMO support coming to the Wii U at the press conference, but for the time being it is looking like we are going to have to wait. Still, with enough flash memory, and this tablet controller, FFXIV or any other MMO would make a nice fit.

    Here's hoping.

Yeah i do hope the online experience is much better this time around. Nintendo has been behind the competition regarding it's online offerings and they kept saying it's cuz online is not that important yet... well i think Sony and MS proved that a good online service is important.

I agree but if their online is as good as the 3ds is so far ill be happy. playing street fighter and other games online is pretty good hardly any lag and that's usually hard to get in fighting games.

I think the new controller would open the door for any MMO being ported to the WII U. What stopped developers from bringing MMOs to console was the console's limitations for not having a mouse/keyboard... etc. At least that's what Blizzard said when they were asked if WOW would be ported to a console someday.

FFXIV is a different story as it was designed to work with a console. But now with the WII U's controller i think any MMO, including wow could make it to the console market.
