sigh, Whispering Dawn has a smaller radius (15y vs. 20y), and a 35% uptime. Though it can be quite powerful when combined with Rouse, and comes Enmity-free and without mana-cost, it is a complementary heal. Before 2.1 there was virtually no way of controlling Eos's timing on this, making it largely wasted. Now .. most capable SCH will use it when required .. This means .. for the typical WHM/SCH group, the ability to output reliable AoE healing has gone up with this patch and the Medica II change balances this to some degree.

Think of SCH as your complement, not your rivals, that's how I think of the WHM alongside me in raids, and I think you should too.

Or you can use double scholar and Rotate whisper dawn CDs since aoe damage typically comes in bursts rather than sustained which you conveniently ignored.

Um you just keep eos on steady. When you want her to spike heal you activate rouse, click on fey illumination and she will then cast whispering dawn on her own...

The same can be said for Eos' fey illumination, sacred soil, super virus and the reduced CD on an eye for an eye which all serve to reduce or mitigate damage to the same or greater effect.

It's situational but the fairy can cast fey covenant which provides magic defense up to 20%.
