Skipping Lag, People Teleporting, 2-5 Second Delay, Fast-Forwarded

Hi, I'm sure people may have my problem and I haven't been able to find a solid solution despite all my research on these forums and google.

My ISP is Time Warner Cable with a 15 download/1 upload connection and I've had this problem where there is a consistent 2-5 second delay in the game, where people are teleporting due to the lag and this results in a fast-forwarded sort of situation. In other words, the game sort of freezes, and then it speeds up in order to catch up at the delay.

I've tried resetting my net, opening ports, changing firewalls, excluding firewalls, but I've come to the conclusion it may just be the ISP. I tried on another connection by COX which was a 10/10 plan, and there was absolutely no lag whatsoever.

If this is a temporary problem that SE has recognized due to some bad patch, please inform me as this has been a recurring frustration I've had to deal with since the game's release. Thanks in ahead.

P.S- I don't plan to use WTFast or Battleping, I think it's ridiculous having to pay so much for a third-party aid in ping when we're already paying so much for the game itself. Any other solution would be greatly appreciated.

i too get some of this lag occasionally. i first noticed it in WP when i would run with some friends and everyone would stop moving, and id just be waiting like wtf are they doing. then after about 5-10 seconds they would fast forward and my screen would go crazy with animations until it caught up to normal time.

just saying you aren't alone and this does really suck, especially running as a SCH

I have the exact same issue, Time Warner in Socal. Lagging, skippy, fast forwarding. I got it all. =/ I just bought the game too and I'm already putting it down cause of it. Every other MMO I play is fine too.

Time Warner SoCal here too (on the 20mb plan). Same problem. But SE's competitors WoW, Rift, SWtoR, to name a few, give me ZERO connection issues. My FC is pushing Turn 5 now and I am to the point of unsubing and enjoying a different game due to not being able to move when needed and not being able to run even low man stuff due to the latency issues.

Outside of SE and the ISP magically fixing the problem. The only suggestion is to use Pingzap, Battleping, or WTFast.

I'm getting desperate enough to consider using one of those, but do they violate the TOS in any way? I wouldn't if that's the case. As I understand them, they're just VPNs ensuring a straight(er) line to the game server with less chance for hiccups and screw ups in-between, but I'd still hesitate to use anything that touches the game in any way.

No, SE has noted they don't violate the TOS. I recommend Pingzapper to be honest. Battleping was very unprofessional like to me. It's still silly we have to pay $4-5 extra bucks a month for stability though.

Silly is not among the top 20 adjectives I'd used to describe what having to turn to third party VPNs and pay more in order to get stable performance out of a game I'm already paying a fee for.
