I loved the missions , that made FFXI fun as hell ... the BCNMS , assault , campaign ect

Oh and the jobs , Sam , Blu , SMn , pup lots of options

This was crazy, it happened on every server and almost nobody cut the line. I waited over an hour to do that fight..

The lines were huge too, found a pic of it below (about half way down the page) but the line in the SS is a lot smaller than what it was when they added the quest.

My fondest memory of FFXI is kind of silly but it stuck with me for some reason after all these years. I went to Altepa with a friend I met in game (god I miss some people from that game like Shinojr and Ninetailz on Shiva, we were friends for 3 years and then poof we each went our separate ways)...anyway me and my friend ninetailz went to Altepa and we were just screwing around as she stole from ants on her thief I was soloing a scorpion as a BLM and It was an EASY fight. My HP dipped a little at one point and ninetailz asked me if I was OK and I'm like yea this is a piece of cake.....then the damn thing hits me with its stinger and I'm dead before the words leave my mouth...for some reason we laughed so hard about it and that one moment stuck with me.

Alot of good memories from FFXI. There were weeks of fishing off the boat at lvl 30 as war with a freind even though I never got it higher than lvl 14 fishing. Getting hit with AoEs from other PTs in khazam. As others have said trains at mant zones which i always thought were funny. Helping many people with snk invis as rdm for their 4-1 i think is was.(crests) The other northen land dynamis (not xacarb) were I went as Drk got charm and killed an entire PT of mages cause I had souleater up. When me and a freind set off fireworks in drg job fight and let another friend solo it. Being bugged by an ls mate everyday to help in an HNM fight in rolanberry. My first time zoning into sky. Having friends set up a couple tvs in my basement and repeating Pertifing Pair all night long. Trading random items to the ??? by the craigs to spawn that gob NM everytime i used them. Powerlving ls mates for hours just cause. Soloing an entire army and NM in campaign. Being killed right after getting raised in besieged. Sneaking to the portals in whitegate areas. Helping a pld friend get his jelly ring. Getting on just to chat with the LS and end up running to gutav or somehwhere else cause someone saw that x nm was up and i wanted to help raise our funds in Ls bank.

But, even though FFXI had alot of good memories there was all so alot of bad memories like days of 6+ hours of waiting for party invites. Pking back when AoEs hit everyone. Being broke almost the entire time. Sub job arugments. People stealing items in endgame events and from LS. But, I think my biggest regret is never getting anything really done. Sure i dinged 75 on a few jobs but i never finished nation mission. Never finished zilart fights. Didnt even get to start prommies. Never got fully merited on my lvl 75 jobs. Aside from dynamis and sky i really didnt get to do any other endgame events. Even though there were somethings I wasnt fond of in FFXI, it really was a memorable expreince.

awww the memories and the good days! I remember when first ppl met kirin and blms casting aspir on it for hours till it run out of MP, and my first time in a HNM shell that other ls claimed a Nidhogg and someone in my LS was trying to MPK and whole ls got sent to jail LMAO!! Camping NM 21-24 hours or logging at camps on every maintance!! I remember the calls at 3am to hold Tiamat while wake more ppl up to kill it and sell gaiters lol. I remember my Dragoon which i put lots of work into and my precious Aegis <3. Working on enhancing magic gear and merits so i could solo better on my pld. I remember those exp chains 200+ <3 (the best way to lv up!).... Those were the days....

My favorite memories of FFXI were accomplishing things that seemed almost impossible.

Winning Maat battle with RDM in the early days.

Finishing CoP and Apoc Nigh after what seemed like an eternal struggle to get a group together for it. This was back in the days where you actually lost EXP for those battles, and some of them taking 6 attempts or more! (I'm looking at you, Snoll!)

Camping Yin Yang Robe or Joyeuse, getting the claim, hounding my friends to come help kill it -- and actually getting the drop.

On the first day when PS2 version was released I would change job to THF, run up to a newbie and /emote steal their gear, gil, weapon, etc.. Then my friend would send them /tells informing them to take their gear off so THFs couldn't steal it... So many naked n00bs running around LOL.

Yeah, it was back in Sarutabaruta on the Odin server.. It started off when I /emote stole some gil off a n00b and he started freaking out. (he didn't know how to check his inventory I guess..) That's when I began to "steal" everything and my friend would play 'good cop' and tell them how to protect their stuff.

That trick worked for almost the whole first week.

Another great memory was the pile of bodies near the docks Selbina (due to the Sea Horror) or the wholesale slaughter outside the gates of Selbina due to some guy training the SAM af mobs back to the town... I was pretty low level and we had no idea how to get out of there LOL.
