Is anyone else bothered by "Fresh Meat"?

As a pvp'r since mmo's came about it kind of annoys me that everyone will have "Fresh Meat" title. Not because it will make calling targets a tiny bit harder. "focus the blm" etc., but because it will not grow a pvp community.

As weird as it sounds its nice to know who you fight, win and lose to. Makes for a stronger pvp community imo.

I don't find it annoying.
You'll be calling your oponent's by their class/jobs and not their names.

Actually it's better this way, imagine you want to call out the BLMs name and it's "Ty'hearlytium Saphy'reauinomus" <-- try spelling that out in combat.

I say : Who cares ? Just your oponents name anyway, you can see it on the score after the fight so no problems there.

...There isn't much disparity in gear, even when we get the vanity system. There will be no way to tell who you're fighting.

They confirmed in the recent live letter Q&A that the vanity system won't even be allowed in PvP. They are basically stripping the players of any identity in PvP so feelings won't get hurt and bad players that pass off their inability to identify an opponent's class without an exact gear set as a "strategy" can be catered to. Its really rather depressing.

Personally this "Fresh Meat" thing sounds like something straight out of a 90s self esteem seminar to me. What's the worse that could happen if I get harassed by another player over a PvP match, aside from finally having a non-RMT related use for my Black List? That doesn't really bother me.

It should have been optional: let those with thinner skin be anonymous. I'd rather wear my name proud both in times of triumph and suckage.

I must have missed that part, that's really a shame lol I wasn't expecting much out of the pvp here cuz, pve game, but this kind of coddling is a bit silly :/
I especially loved when the "fresh meat" thing was first announced, all the people were saying "YAY now no one will immediately recognize who is undergeared by their name and they'll have a fighting chance!" allofmywat.

This way most people in this game act, it makes me feel like I'm playing a 90s self esteem seminar simulator.

Well, it is called ウルヴズジェイル ''Wolves Jail'' in Japanese

But back on topic, I personally don't mind it.
I do find it rather weird that the battle log will show all the names though. Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of using the fresh meat title?

Its a horrible idea imo. "Smack talk" is just something we must bear with, rather than do something as ridiculous as this..
Pretty much the only thing I really dislike about this game is the amount of forced control over everything. Guess thats the japanese way.
