Why is housing even being released

Maybe I'm super unique but instead of being purposefully overpriced for three months until they probably fix the servers I'd have much preferred they just didn't release housing until 2.2 when they got new servers that could handle more than 15 plots a world. It just really doesn't make sense to me to release a product you can't support and then to hide that fact make it so expensive no one can buy it.

I just can't help imagining that if they postponed housing until 2.2 or whenever they upgrade the servers that the blowback would be a tenth of what it is now. Because instead of everyone being angry that content is being released and put behind an impassable because the servers can't handle it. We'd only be a little annoyed because it was being delayed but would at least work and be affordable when it finally arrived. So instead ofeveryone wanting Yoshis head on a pike we'd at least have something to look forward too.

15 plots a world? Is that an actual fact that I missed somewhere or an exaggeration?
I feel like once we get into the game, they'll make the adjustments necessary if the pricing is that staggering. After all, it'd be ridiculous to assume that they want us to not experience any part of a new feature that they've been making us excited about. It seems to me that a lot of people want to believe that they want us to suffer for some strange reason, and I think we shouldn't jump the gun just yet until we've actually, y'know experienced it all firsthand.

Just a guess, but they are releasing them because some will be able to afford the current prices and will want to have a house for their FC.

There are 30 plots per instance iirc. They'd open up another instance after the available plots are bought up allowing for (theoretically) an infinite number of plots (although it would be more likely the servers would keel over and die from the strain) necessitating more servers per x number of instances.

If this was XI, people wouldn't bat an eyelash at content released that is not immediately attainable and requires a virtual life's work. Relics? Mythics?

In Gimme Entitlement Reborn, SE can't release anything that takes time and work and community building and any of the virtues they hope to instill in the player base that are lacking in its instant grat channel surfing low attention span twitterati gimme the escalade now daddy existence.

15 is an assumption based on three sizes and five plots a size and the fact they're so purposefully overpriced it's unlikely anyone will buy them within the next 90 days. And Yoshi has admitted they were priced like they are because they don't want people buying them right away.

They're doing it because it's the only way to reliably load test the system and gauge what extra hardware they may need to activate as well as it being a precaution so they don't have a small scale repeat of launch week.
