Why is housing even being released

First, this isnt XI.

Second, legacy players have already been waiting for housing , since it was promised back during the days of 1.0. And to this date not everyone has hundreds of millions of gil. Only a small handful of players would.
300-600million gil is not even a long term goal for most honest players. Getting myth gear and +1 for all 9 jobs is a better example of a long term goal.

your wrong about relics you had instant access once you hit rank 6, bought the clock item then got the base weapon from a drop after that it was just getting the old currency and dynamis only locks you out 3 days. never having to spend one cent it was nothing but content spaming.

FFXIV is BS because it wants insane gil prices. its making one week lockouts from content. no way can you sit there and say FFXIV's systems are ok.
mythics were even easier & faster to get, then mog trial weapons cost nothing but you doing trials which was content not a gil sink.

yeah, some people had an entire LS funding that one guy to get that one relic and the one guy personally didn't have to spend a dime.

most relics were made by people who bought their currency though

...and trying to see a difference between spamming content to make money to buy X, vs spamming content to acquire currency to buy X ...is kind of a stretch

15 is an assumption based on three sizes and five plots a size and the fact they're so purposefully overpriced it's unlikely anyone will buy them within the next 90 days. And Yoshi has admitted they were priced like they are because they don't want people buying them right away.

They're doing it because it's the only way to reliably load test the system and gauge what extra hardware they may need to activate as well as it being a precaution so they don't have a small scale repeat of launch week.

Oh look, someone making a pointless post to complain about someone posting an observation and request for clarification.

On topic, they admitted they don't have the hardware and hope the player base are silly enough to swallow their other excuses after the fact. SE have never been up front with the players and I don't know why I ever expected this bunch of devs to be any different. They'll make up whatever excuses they can right up till the players are in open revolt and the game starts to see revenue drop before they try and be open about their bad decisions.

I love SE's games, not so much in recent years but I know they have a knack for these things you don't get from many other companies. They are also kings of screwing up for hair brained reasoning. The players just need to jump up and down on their heads till it gets through em that you don't release half finished content and damn sure not before you have the infrastructure in place to provide your product to folks that have payed you for it already.

More or less saying SE released it before it was ready because to do otherwise would be to admit mistake and lose face. That or they intend housing to stay the realm of the few. Which I don't think is the case, at least I hope not.

Off topic, it occurs to me that with the moghouse system of FFXI they had an individual instance for every single player didn't they? Or is there a reason the servers of FFXIV can't handle a much smaller number of larger instances?
