The problem with that is it would make it seem as though they care.
Sorry wont happenand weekly is a set time schedual they also dont want that. as long as this stuff goes on it will be this way no info >>> tell you to wait for info>>>>vague info that lead to you asking the same question they supposedly answered>>>>no info >>>wash/rinse/repeat.
I have lost all faith in the fact that this company actually cares about its fans or what they think, so what you ask would be nice but wont happen. sorry bud "we'll look into it" though!

I like this idea. This would really give the developers an insight as to what matters most to the players. As many can see, not everyone is in agreement with what should be prioritized first.

Some people want features, some people want content. The arguments for these go both ways. For those that want content, they may argue "there is no use for features if there is no content to take advantage of them", while those that argue for features may argue "there is no use for content if there are no features from which to build the content upon". While to some, either one of these arguments may seem redundant as either side of fence seems to have "valid" arguments as to why they are correct, player polls would gauge which items the community would like to see more, and overall benefit the gradual improvement of this game.

Skimming through the posts, I see that some feel that this would be a bad idea because players don't know what is best for the game. I think that "what is best for the game" is what players want to see the most. The implementation of any single item will always upset some and please others. This is quite obvious and can be seen quite easily by looking at General Discussion. Personally, I think the reason why this game had such a failed launch is because they did not listen to the majority of player opinions. If the majority of the players want something that you don't, you need to realize that games don't make much money off catering to a small minority of players, majority rule(s).

I don't see how more player polls would hurt the game, if anything, it would at least let them see at a glance at which items the community feels are most important.

Indeed, it's almost as if our UI is still very unresponsive like it was in beta and that people didn't want a job system. No one wanted side quests or more things to do with DoH guilds. No one ever asked for more NMs to kill nor NMs that dropped gear at all. Everyone stayed silent about SP rates so they never revised the system. Everyone was perfectly content with not having a search system in the MW and everyone was perfectly fine with less than 100 inventory slots.

Oh wait, they actually do take suggestions and listen to people. Just because they don't implement jump or whatever doesn't mean they don't listen. Anything else (chocobos, airships etc) is already confirmed, been talked about, confirmed again, been talked about and confirmed yet again by the dev team to be implemented.

    Shikyo;

You should probably think before you post.

Then you go on to say that she attacks other people's ideas? From what I see it's an opinion, just like in your opinion, you consider her a "blind ass." If it's a problem that she "attacks ideas" what gives you the authority to attack her personally?

    Practice what you preach:

You're not the morality police either.

As for the topic -- Weekly polls would be nothing more than a means of trying to force SE into releasing weekly patches, because all it would do is pave way for people to complain that they aren't listening to poll results if they don't immediately patch the game after. Even monthly polls are pushing it. They know what the game needs and they're working on it -- the main issue here is the battle system is the utmost important mechanic they need to overhaul which is taking a lot of time to do.

Overhauls in XI didn't take that long which is why they still got an expansion out barely a 1 1/2 after launch.

I am playing the game, just like I play FFXI and have my own opinion. I also play Tera and have my own opinion. Being blind to issues means saying nothing is wrong with the game, which instead of making an ass of your self you'd know that I'm one of the more vocal people to state what's wrong with this game, especially with the decision to make the interface server side which was a dumb decision to thwart RMT.

What is being blind however, is saying that they're ignoring us when a lot of fixes were in direct response to our complaints, if you can deny this, that is called being blind.

Not everyone wants the same thing and the game would need things that benefit everyone, e.g having a responsive UI would be a lot less of a want compared to how people want content and jumping, they'll overlook the important thing and go for things they want.

XIV got rushed out ahead of scheduel (this can't be denied, all evidence of higher up intrusion (wada) is there.) hence the whole "please wait a month to review the game" thing because they weren't done even debugging the game.

Plans aren't risky or else games are never made in the first place.
Completely agree, plus the people here on the forum don't represent all the player nor the millions of gamers that SE is trying to bring in the game. If they based all of the development based on the polls from most of you here this game will turn into FFXI-2, aimed at a niche market... completely turning off casual players and having to spend hours to find a party or fight for a whole day to defeat a single NM so no thank you. The developers are paid to do that job and have the experience to do so.... 99% of you don't.

Heck the only thing about turning this game into "XI-2" I agree with is bringing over the basics that XIV got horribly wrong. Like the linkshell system while a step forward, was large leaps backwards in terms of basics. Same with the "search" system the game had. I do read lightly about the "Make this XI-2!" because I think most are referring to post abyssea FFXI which shovel gear down your throat for almost no work lol.

OP has good intentions, but the last thing I want is another damn PR stunt in the stead of something actually getting done.

True, I agree with you there, but i think most have it in there minds that its gonna take a enormous amount of time no matter what for anything to actually get done like you say.
So most would settle for info and that is even asking too much it seems.
