Yet it is de-facto for any serious MMORPG released after 2002.I for one really hate using ventrillo since it's never required except for HNMLS in FFXI.
I for one would like this game to be put up to the standards of MMORPG gameplay.

There's something wrong when you need ventirilo to play a MMO. Millions of people around the world don't use it, and the language/accent barrier is really limited to a small minority.
I can't even google a waazzzat goeogoeogoeo remarks at times.
There's still a place for semi-gramatical text to be needed. Especially for logging purposes.
This is where you're wrong and I question your I.Q. Tests. Being that nobody required Ventrilo unless you were into a serious HNMLS of FFXI and even then I wasn't required to have it. This isn't a quality on the standards of MMORPG gameplay. Just your stupid whim of trying to seem changing anything in FFXIV is a bad idea. The fact is that I can hardly type to my friends when I have to constantly smash buttons to either engage targets or synth items. Every linkshell I've tried to join has requested Ventrilo be downloaded first on their website. What's pathetic is that I was actually kicked from one because I chose not to download it.
Being in one of the best HNMLS in FFXI on the Siren server, I never needed to use ventrilo other than to just chat to friends who moved to other servers. It doesn't help you at all other than to chat. My strategy and skill on my jobs determined how good I was, not some stupid program that allowed me to chit-chat with the others.
