    In what world does making your character automatically attack ADD strategy? Timing your regular attacks while deciding how to line up your other abilities is a large part of both the strategy and pacing of the battle. I'll wait and see, but my expectations for the new battle system just dropped considerably.

    Bummer. I am definitely not looking forward to an auto-attack system. While not perfect yet, I really thought they were on to something with the current system.

    Apparently I was not paying attention to realize Matsui was the current battle lead. As a long time PUP in XI, my expectations for any new system are quite low based on that alone.

    They were on to something, it was going to be awesome. each weapon was unique, the only real problem was that each had the same attack speed. If they woulda fixed that and gave us a way to better control our attack (extended queue) possibly and auto-attack that still used stamina and could be toggled on and off battle would have been awesome.

    They're gonna have alot of fun trying to make every weapon feel unique now lol
    It's not cause I can tell the future, I just can't imagine any way they can pull it off.
    And I have a pretty openminded imagination.

    It's ok to be upset Esar, But don't take it out on other peoples opinions.

    THe devs didn't just bend to our will. They have had an auto attack system in the works for a while. What happens is they have an in house test build, they probably had many versions of battle. They asked their testers what did you find more fun? Obviously the answer was AA.
    They then compiled the poll results, they read the feedback on the forums. And came the conclusion, the players don't like the current battle system (polls) they are willing to accept change (polls) AA is a heavily debated topic (forum) our testing team thinks AA is a better system for the game. AA is in.
    Changes like this are the type of changes that will bring people back to the game.
    If you don't like it fine, don't get angry at us. SE lost 290k players in the first few months i'm sure they won't miss a few more.

    It doesn't add strategy.. it appeases those who came from any other MMO and cant live without auto attack.

    Rank 50 gladiator and closing in on R50 thaumaturge, and I did it with out auto attack. And pugilist is quite fun without auto attack as well.

    It saddens me as well. Next thing they will do is go back to Job/subjob because enough people don't like the current class system. Then we will no longer have crafting tools and be back to using crystals and 'imagining' what we want to create for a fail/no fail end.

    As did mine. I'll try to keep an open mind about it but....I didn't want auto-attack with this game.
