Final Thoughts on the Housing Rage

So I have been strolling through the forums because life without FFXIV is sadly... boring.

I have seen so much complaints about the housing system and the pricing and I am just in awe of people really. Let's do a small recap of everything we are getting in this .1 patch (which by the way should be called an expansion).

-PvP
-Crystal Tower (New Raid)
-Pharos Sirius (New Dungeon)
-Hardmode Dungeons that are completely different from the originals
-Housing System
- Main Scenario Continuation
-Dailies with Beast Tribe Factions
-Moogle Fight
-Extreme Primal Battles
-Hair Salon
-Battle Adjustments
-Tons of New Gear
-A Remodeled Mor Dhona (I'm really excited about this!)
-Mythology Cap Raise
-Duty Roulette
-Side Quests for Pure Enjoyment

And you're complaining about housing prices.... seriously!?

If all you care about is the ability to buy a house, I honestly thing you're playing the WRONG game. Try the Sims 3 perhaps. Lot's of cheap housing choices there.

Yes everyone was excited and now everyone won't be able to get a house on day 1 like they dreamed of doing, but so what? There is more to this patch than one addition to the game!

OP, has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, that there are people out there who enjoy different aspects of the game than you? What if I told you that there are people who play this game that aren't too interested in PvP and raiding and whatnot, but instead play it for the lore and the social aspects of the game? It might be impossible for you to believe, but there are people who don't care for having the best gear or getting world firsts, and maybe they really wanted to purchase a house and make it all nice and all that jazz, so they could invite friends and other people to hang out in their pimped-out home.

You ever thought about that?

While what you say has to have the MOST condescending tone I have EVER heard in my life, what You don't realize is that the raging is unnecessary. We haven't had housing for three months and NOW is when people wanna complain about being homeless. Just ridiculous considering everything we are getting along with the housing system.

EXACTLY! NOW everyone is pissed. NOW everyone is crying about living in District 9.

A lot of people were really looking forward to housing since the game launched, and when they get slapped in the face by 625,000,000 gil I think it's understandable to see a lot of complaints about it.

Not to mention that a lot of the other content that OP is defending is also a big slap in the face.

--Let's nerf jobs that don't need to be nerfed and buff the one that was already damage leader.

--Let's add a 24-man instance, but force you to deal with 16 random people if you don't manage to get get the whole FC to pop together.

--Let's add dailies that take longer and reward you far less than content already in the game. But this is okay because you can buy MINIONS, because this is really Minion Fantasy XIV.

--Let's rehash the same primal battles that were already in the game since release (and 1.0 in the case of Garuda and Ifrit!), but make them even more rage-inducing for people that don't live close to the server.

OP, I get that you're really excited about this update, but housing is NOT the only reason people are upset. It seems to be one of the biggest reasons, but it was one of many things that we were misled about over the past several months. There's really no reason for you to keep making threads about this that contribute absolutely nothing new to the discussion on every other housing thread already on this forum.
