I always thought the regen was common knowledge with piety, but I guess not and probably why it's so underrated. It's a good secondary stat, and what I look for after DET. I wouldn't spend my stat points on it, but it's really good to add with materia.

I know it's pretty normal to say that WHM have a mana issue, I was one too, screaming for MP in turns 1 to 4. Then when I got drowned in loot, the moment I hit about 4600 MP I've never had an issue again. It's like the piety boost made it so I could up keep myself, my raid compliments me for not having mana issues when I havn't really changed anything but my MP getting higher.

Examples of piety variables can be found between allagan and hero accessories. Some have 8 while the counterpart has 12 making the one with 12 the better choice.

Being able to spam the better heals to just "heal-overpower" content is amazing and can't be done without a big mp pool

Once you'r hitting all ilvl90 though and eat some vit/pie food (which is gonna last through death now) your mp is high enough to comfortably overheal without ever running dry.

Also people saying SCH doesn't need piety due to amazing mp recovery r completely clueless.
The more piety the harder you can spam Adloquiums and even spam succor for the heck of aoe healing.

It allows you to overpower content and regen that much more mp, making the fight easier on everyone.
Ive always wondered about this. My scholar is mostly mind (I think +8 mind, +4 on piety I think can't check it right now) but I've always wondered if more piety might help. I like adloquim spamming... and more mp would certainly make that easier to do just that

MND stat builds are the bane of aggro if anything for WHM anyways, I find the extra PIE very helpful as heals are already very strong, consistency over inconsistency I say I think Piety will be the go to stat especially with PvP not having any on the gear and with the Cure2/3 and Medica 2 change More mana regen = the ability to buff more (Stoneskin, medica 2, Regen) on top of your standard healing toolkit. If you are pulling aggro too much, lay off the MND IMO.

In my opinion you don't need the extra MP as a SCH, as I've never run out of mana (neither on Titan nor on T1/T2).

Ofc, things might change on Primal EX // T4/T5 or even CT.

One thing to keep in mind though is, the higher the mind, the easier it gets to overheal (waste of mp and aggro). Perhaps going piety is a good thing for healers (whm?) that are still in DL or lower ???

As a WHM probably right, as a SCH you dont have that much of overheal :>

More mp allowers for more regen with passive and aetherflow which allows you to overpower content by using your bigger heals and dps while the shields last.

Piety is at least as, if not more important for SCH as it is for WHM.
If you already have the big heals, being able to throw more shileds etc. even when not needed just opens up way more playroom
