No, you use the three tokens for one reward. I'm hoping though the shield comes with the sword.

It's probably from CT. It looks more design-wise to with the Warrior of Light set. Dunno why they called it Onion, though.

Since it's called Onion it makes me think that it will be a drop from Crystal Tower as they were the strongest equipment for the strongest job in FFIII, but it's IL90. Maybe Crystal Tower can drop a some IL90 shields?
What about the mage shields (Ancient Buckler etc)? Maybe from CT as well

Well typically you get a shield along with the sword in XIV (this applies to the relics) so I am assuming you get it with Break Blade so it evens out the stat gains compared to the other weapons.

It's weird that Onion equipment is LNC/DRG Crystal Tower gear, yet this shield exists. Maybe this heralds a Tank Lancer class! *dodges potential bricks*

Would that be the Jousting class? mix in a bard and get the Jesting class.

I'm still sitting around with Curtana + Holy Shield. The way I see it is that I think getting Break Blade + Onion Shield will be a worthwhile upgrade until Allagan Blade.

This shield alone is good enough for me. It's.. just amazing.

The shield is definitely worth it. Going Curtana zenith with this. Sword just isn't that great.

You get a token from each primal with enable you to purchase 1 weapon I think.

Do you think the shield is from the extreme primals or Crystal Tower though?

It's hard to tell.. but if it doesn't come from the extreme primals then I can't see a single PLD wanting to do extreme primals just for Break Blade.

Oh no... Looking at that quest line and prerequisites, I get the impression that you have to beat Turn 5 before you can do Extreme Primals. Did I just miss that being mentioned earlier? I haven't been coiling hard enough...
EDIT: Nevermind, I got confused by the branching quests. Phew!

No weirder than Mists. You have to buy three per relic, except for PLD, which needs two for Curtana and one for the Holy Shield.

It's actually really good, better than Holy Shield Zenith I think, perhaps even Allagan Round Shield.

Unless they add Reprisal to XIV Paladin's repertoire of moves, the middle of the road kite type shields will still reign supreme.
