Thread: Update download time

Anywone out there have a round about when we can start downloading...im one of those unlucky ppl that have a slow 1.5mb connection. I hope we can start updating early and not at the 24 hr mark. Any insight is appreciated. Thank You

i too have a 1.5mb connection i didn't think there was anyone else like that these days, i was better at my parents house in 2007 xD .. now i live on the top floor (21st) of a 55year old building which hasn't had phoneline changes since they were installed.. goooooo slow download!!

in all seriousness i cannot see them allowing you to download the patch untill it has been fully implemented.. i am no code expert but i wouldn't have thought there was a way to do it before it was completed

Yea 1.5 is the fastest I can get atm w/o switching companies out here in the middle of bum F nowhere. I downloaded XIV on a 10mb connection but now that I only have 1.5 im scared itll take forever..Plus wife also has to update hers :/....how long did it take you to download XIV on ur 1.5 connection?

I have the same problem, only sister instead. when we update other games we usually let her desktop running the patch/update/whatever and then transfer it to mine. still takes a while but is still a lot faster than having both of us download it (especially downloading at the same time usually completely kills our connection)

i do anticipate upwards of 5hrs to download though which is why i hope they are done before A/ i go to bed or B/ i go to work tomorrow .. so it will be ready for when i come back lol

This made me put it out..doesn't seem all that bad

Do own a 150mbit/s connection so for around 3 gig I need on the worst case scenario 30 mins ^^.

thats wired on wireless 2.4 MBPs it was done patchin in like 15 minutes tops !!

anyways luckily they let us patch while maintance is ongoing!!

Most updates in FFXI you could already patch your game while they were still working on the servers. Think it is not up yet because they are changing server (groups) and so on. Would be nice if it goes up somewhere in the next 4 hours so I can download it before I go look up my bed :P
