    Mods ?

Will this game eventually allow MODS ? I seriously hate having to google something if the company would just allow someone to make a mod to help you find these things a lot easier without the cross reference hassles.

Someday I will find a PvP oriented game that will be as much fun as Dark Age of Camelot was in its heyday.. <still looking>

Never had to google any of the mobs in numerous hunting logs. As it tells you where they are in the hunting log if you hover over them when in the zone (Duty Recomendations)

Zones aren't exactly huge to not be able to find things with a tiny bit of effort.

My guess is mods won't be allowed until they can find away to police them sufficiently so as to make them completely unhelpful.

It's about exploration and interaction with other players - yes you can look online to find a mobs location. OR you could have explored yourself and have a vague idea of most mobs locations (as it already tells you the zone), ask a friend or even shout within the zone for their location - a lot of the time someone will reply within 30s to a minute, I always take time to give a rough location when I see a request.

As to mods, I doubt any mods will be officially sanctioned by SE, however if the game continues to garner enough attention I am sure a few unsanctioned client side mods will pop up here and there (however this is risky as bots are also client side mods).

Some are just "almost" correct, but yea, that's it, however.

The vast majority can be easily found if you go to the section mentioned in your hunting log. The few mobs you have problems with shouldn't be problematic thanks to this website: http://dimensionaldeath.com/index.php?page=huntinglogs

Thanks for the awesome link. That's going to help me out a lot in the future.

They've already said they eventually intend to release an API to allow for mods. When this will happen is anyone's guess, though.

I hope they don't take the route Rift did. Trion dragged their feet so much on releasing anything and what they did release was so unuseful all you could make was a basic parser. I don't want gamebreaking stuff, but boy do I miss Bartender and Vuhdo. Being able to adjust the UI to match up to my G600 mouse and some decent raid frames would be the icing on this already beautiful cake.

I believe the mods they are talking about are dat mods which there were literally thousands of for FFXI (PC client only since you had to change files within the game's folders on your computer for them to appear in the game) their only use was changing the way things looked graphically, similar to the Glamour system we have now but you could change the file of a monster and if done correctly, would change its appearance in the game and it would walk/act appropriately based on TP skills and such. I know a few people who changed some mobs in FFXI because they either didn't like the SE original (an ex of mine changed Spiders to Moogle because she was afraid of spiders) and another friend who changed Scorpions (namely the ones in Abyssea - Tahrongi because it made it easier for him to see his character during Fell Cleave burns. They have no impact on gameplay, just make it easier to see sometimes. There were even some people I know who would create their own unique equipment in different software so they could make their char look better to their own personal liking, it didn't effect the game any, just made it more appealing to them visually I guess.

However I could be wrong and they're talking about a completely different type of mod.
