    The Dragoon's Burden: Skill Speed

Sadly, looking at quite a bit of the dragoon gear it seems the developers are intent upon stacking heaps of this stat upon our equipment.

If you look through the gear sets, there are different archetypes attached. Fending, Casting, Healing, Aiming, Maiming, and Striking. Each corresponds to a class upon whom's armor it can consistently be found. Fending is WAR/PLD, healing is WHM/SCH, aiming is BRD, maiming is DRG, and striking is MNK.

While the accessories themselves are usually interchangable, the actual armor is not. So even if you're lucky enough to snag some striking accessories, you're still stuck with non-accessories that favor the Maiming archetype and by proxy the most useless stat for you.

How long do you think its going to take them to fix Skillspeed and make it worthwhile?

Skill speed is fine. Aside from the TP drain its pretty desirable. I haven't found it to be unmanagable and I've got a lot of it. I took Fracture out of my rotation, saw my DPS boost, and have no issues with TP even far into Twintania. No fixing needed.

I think that TP drain is really the biggest problem. It'd be nice it if also lowered the time between TP regeneration ticks.

Skill Speed is actually fine. The only thing I didn't like about it was being unable to clip your buffed dots in your rotation after you got enough Skill Speed, which they're fixing in this patch.

The TP drain is negligable, there are plenty of opportunities to regen before the last two phases of Twintania, which is the only fights long enough to really cause a TP issue. Your WAR is gonna need TP song for a few ticks in T4, so you'll be able to benefit from that as well. Use Invigorate wisely and it shouldn't be an issue.

i never saw TP drain as an issue at all for dragoons. It should never be in all ST situations, if you are having TP issues, you are not using invigorate right.

What I saw as an issue for skill speed, however, is that its not as desirable when compared to crit/dtr. Skillspeed has 0 effect on our off GCD attacks (Sweep/jump/spineshatter/dragonfire), and has 0 effect on our DoTs. both groups of which are quite a significant portion of our DPS.
