I'm sorta pissed that the ONLY way to get a tower shield worth a damn is to get the PvP one, which sorta bones you 'cause it's got morale.

Elder staff here i come!!!!
because i think +1 may indicate to some people that there is an upgrade system. a system that allows further then +1. onwards up to a higher number like +6 or something.
may have cause some confusion with people. or maybe they wanna prevent it. lol i feel sorry for the newbie that bought more mats to try to to +2 their weapon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and about the item being worth it or not. i think it is. the item level of your weapon can be important.
even if it is only 5 item levels it can make a difference.
example White Mage weapons... http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...min_item_lv=51
you can see the Madman's Whispering Rod and the Ifrit's Cane.
the Cane has only 4 more Mind and 7 more Magic Damage. (i dunno if the damage affect healing or not). it also has the +14 Determination. now Determination has a VERY small impact on healing.
with the Rod my 'Cure I' healed roughly 250HP. with the Cane my 'Cure I' healed roughly 340HP.
there is NO way the nominal change in stats could have added 90HP in healing. i know this from testing with other parts like rings and gear and etc.
there are only two other factors that could have caused such a drastic increase. the Item Level. and the quality going from green to blue.
i am also not sure if having green or pink or blue or even purple makes any difference.
Item level has absolutely nothing to do with the damage a weapon does.Its the higher base weapon damage and the extra of the main stat that those i90 have makes em good,not the "ilvl" itself
Awww, mincing your words won't hide your delusion ...cute though.
PLD stats.
Str 31
Vit 35
Pry 29
Acc 26
Skill Speed +7
War Stats - New OP, ermahgerd i'm a PLD with an axe stats!
Str 31
Vit 35
Pry 26 (PLD Wins!)
Acc 37 (A little too much for WAR mehbe, will depend on gear)
onion shield seems useful, doesn't have skill speed on it.
Dual Haken looks like a great weapon (be happy warriors)
elfin bow seems like its exchangeable between artemis zenith and itself, you lose 37 acc by taking it, but it has crit and determination.
hellish claws: acc and determination, better than siphairai i think. (idk monk)
Omnirod: crit an piety, determination loss might make it either-or.
elder staff: lacks skill speed.
books: both have spell speed, exchangeable with omnilex and veil. (though omnitome might be better since it has accuracy if your summoner is lacking that.)
You are arriving to the right conclusion but in the wrong way. Item level will dictate the stat caps for each of those weapons, the ifrit cane cane has a higher stat cap on the 'magic damage' stat as you comment in your post. The fact is, magic damage(weapon damage for physical dps) is the highest priority stat for healing and damage. So high in fact that its weighted somewhere around 8-10 times more than your primary stat (MND in the case of you healing).
So 7 more magic damage equates to approximately 56-70 more points of MND. That is why your Cure I increases in potency so much.
Determination is weighted around 0.20-0.25 compared to MND for healing.
The real question is... do we still want lantern shields at this point or are kite shields superior? The block rate and block strength on Holy Shield and Onion Shield are very different
Personally, I prefer the Dual Haken on my warrior to the Bravura Zenith since with that much accuracy, I can use other pieces without worrying about the cap.
if the item level does not affect the items performance and is a mere reflection. then ONLY thing left that could have caused such a drastic increase to healing in my test would be the item quality going form green to blue.
cause if you look at Cleric's Robes.
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...m/0ffe5c341c0/
you can see the the stats just on that one item is much much greater then that the stat difference between Madman's Whispering Rod and Ifrit's Cane. and when i take off the Robes while wearing Cane my heals did around 320HP as opposed to 340HP.
and if this is the case... then the new weapons i do not think will be worth it. though it may worth it or not depending on the person and how they play or whatever i guess. cause they have different stats.
