I guess your in the USA? I have e-friends over there and i've discussed this with them before, I got the impression there's little choice over there in the US so the bigger companies can pretty much get away with charging people for sub standard internet services.Well, in my case, I live in a very small town with a small population. We only have five total ISPs in the area, the other 4 provide internet through Dish network. The one we currently have provides Dish as well, but we're using DSL because it bundles our phone bill and internet bill into one package. So they can dictate the speed of their internet as they see fit, and by god is it awful.
