OP's logic:
Lockouts aren't new so get over it.
My response:
Totalitarian governments, torture, thievery and murder aren't new, so get over it.
Same school of thought, equally idiotic and short-sighted.

Yeah, lockouts truly are the Nazis of the 21st century.
See? I can make stupid analogies too.
It has nothing to do with the analogy and everything to do with you using a historian's fallacy to justify your argument... but then again, we are on the SE forums, so feel free to reject reality and carry on with your 'beliefs'.
the same could be said for that post of your, i wouldn't be so much proud to point fingers
OP's logic:
Lockouts aren't a new thing so I don't understand why everyone is acting like Square Enix is a devil who totally invented lockouts to deprive them of grinding time. They've been around a while. They should be expected. Sure, the system could use some tweaks - I even said that, because FF14's class system is relatively unique - but when people run around like headless chickens because "SE is an EVIL COMPANY because they have FOUNDED THE LOCKOUT!" it gets a bit silly.
Also, it's kind of silly to compare something in a video game to actual, serious real life crimes/horrors.
Wow, way to misunderstand my post. My point was:
I was comparing your application of logic, not literal scenarios. Nobody here has ever said SE started lockouts, however, plenty of people have said the lockouts are too stringent for their tastes. Just because something existed in the past does not justify it's application in current times. Does the fact that stoning a person to death as punishment for a crime make it any less barbaric or any more acceptable given today's morale standards and functional scenarios simply because it was commonly done in the past? No, it does not. Nor are the application of lockouts in FFXIV justified simply because other games in the past have utilized them (whether or not their applications were successful).OP's logic:
