    Guild Leve's


    Shards awarded for completing fieldcraft leves have been increased.

    what leves award shards? only item i have ever gotten from any fieldcraft leve is a Cordial.







    Battle

    The following changes have been made to actions and statuses:

    Conjurer - Medica II.

    why weaken this spell? for PvP purposes? i can understand that. but honestly the spell is already weak as it is. it already causes too much enmity for such a weak spell. and now it's weaker... why?



    Thunder can no longer be used as an additional skill by Disciples of Magic.

    i am just curious why do this? it does not seem significant.


    Status affliction resistances will now begin counting after the last corresponding status affliction is received.
    what does this even mean? can someone please explain this one to me? thank you.



    Damage-over-time actions that target the ground such as Flaming Arrow and Shadow Flare will now break sleep and bind effects.
    i don't understand how this is any different then what currently happens. i play with BRD in AK a lot. and their Flaming Arrow has always broken sleep/bind effects. (i don't know anything about Shadow Flare)


    In light of the above increase in EXP yield, link bonuses no longer apply in instanced dungeons so as not to affect enemy placement.
    what are link bonuses? and how do they affect enemy placement?

    When set to Obey and Steady, pets will only execute actions when commanded, and will remain in the Steady stance.

    does this mean Carbuncle won't even use Gust on its own when using Obey now?

    what kind of trade? the regular trade when turning in a quest?

    i am a PS3 player and don't even know what LT or RT is. do you mean L1 and R1? or maybe L3 and R3? also i don't understand this feature. maybe if i knew what LT/RT is. :/

    If the XHB control setting is set to "Toggle," XHB will become inactrivae when the new window pops.
    i know what the XHB is. i just don't understand this feature. please explain someone.

    Subcommands can be accessed by right-clicking the mouse, or pressing the x button/ □ button on the gamepad/controller.

    the X button IS the confirm button. can we or can we not open the sub-menu on a selected player with the X button? currently we can. and it's just awful.


    A "Display log message" checkbox has been added to the emote menu.
    Unchecking this box will hide emote messages from your log.

    what log?




    any help understanding any of this is greatly appreciated.

    Medica II was actually extremely good, the regen was very high especially if used in combo with divine seal, it was very nice to have a whm using medica II on coil/titan. Now you have half the potency but double the time, i dont think its that bad, still i prefer how it was before.

    You could sleep a mob and then apply a dot without waking him up. Wasnt working as intended.

    I assume exp chain on killing mobs.

    All the trades that requires a NPC, so yes, regular trade when turning a quest too.

    Well I'm no SE but I can do my best to tag a couple of these.

    Conjurer - Medica II.
    why weaken this spell? for PvP purposes? i can understand that. but honestly the spell is already weak as it is. it already causes too much enmity for such a weak spell. and now it's weaker... why?
    I would imagine that the main reason, isn't that they are weakening it. Cutting it in half, then doubling the duration really kind of works out to be about the same overall. But I think the change came more in light of WHM's who were complaining that Medica II generated too much Burst Enmity on things like Titan and Caduceus, so they brought it down to stabilize the enmity gain over a longer timeframe.

    My guess is that this is a bug fix more than anything. Sounds like someone had found a wait to make resistance's reset by using another status effect to me. Basically the resistance counter is what determines weather or not something like stun is effective, for how long, and weather or not the effect is fully resisted. I'm not sure what the specifics are but it sounds like something along the lines of someone found a means to reset a stun resistance counter, by using a different status effect.

    A link bonus is bonus exp for killing multiple enemies back to back. It's the time between when you killed the last mob, to the time you engaged another. You probably saw this more when you were leveling in the form of a "Chain bonus" which in dungeons is basically the same thing, but hidden from player sight. So all they are doing is removing that menial bonus and putting an actual EXP boost in. The placement means that mobs had to be a certain distance from each other in order for the link bonus to even work, and usually in a positioning that allowed one target to be killed and the other to be quickly engaged.

    I would imagine so yes, because when you put a pet on standby, Eos in my case, and tell her to use Whispering Dawn, she'll instantly go back to active mode and spam all her abilities. In standby all they will use is their basic move, or in my Case, Embrace. So SMN's rejoice for no more unwanted Garuda pushback lol.

    LT and RT and Left Trigger and Right Trigger. These are L2 and R2 on the PS3 Controler. I think this was kind of said in error and they MEANT R1 and R2.

    Right Bar, Left Bar. These are the Hotbars that you trigger on with R2 and L2. So basically it's the set the works with those buttons. So R2 for instance will activate the LB (Left bar) of skills. Hopefully that makes sense.

    They mean that X will no longer bring up the sub-command menu... Just Square.

    This is a bit off-topic, but... who the heck uses Medica II on Caduceus? 99% of the healing is on the tanks. xD

    I don't know that this is involved in all the leves but I know when I did Alchemist, there were a few of the earlier leves that gave me some Water Shards. Didn't see it much on the upper level leves, but it would give like 5 at a time I think, so they are probably bringing that yield up to be more beneficial to a crafting class.

    We don't know much about the treasure hunts other than what was revealed in the patch notes, so it's hard to say. The hidden I assume is going to work like the unspoiled nodes in a sense, that you will need a special skill, or perhaps a minimum Gathering/Perception to even find them. More likely though it's just an RNG kind of thing (Random Number Generation) where it's something like 1/1000 probability of finding the hidden... You just never know with SE, if something is valuble, you can bet that you'll either be working your @$$ of to get it, or that it's going to be nearly impossible to find.

    LT/RT are Left Trigger and Right Trigger on a Xbox controller. They are the same as L2/R2 on PS3.
    LB/RB are Left Bumper and Right Bumper on a Xbox controller. They are the same as L1/R1 on PS3.
    The PC version of FF:ARR can use a Xbox controller so they give the name both for the PS3 and the Xbox.

    When set to "Toggle", pressing L2 or R2 activate the related part of the XHB until L2 or R2 are pressed again. You can then perform actions just by pressing cross, square, circle, etc... When a popup opens on the screen, and the XHB is toggled, pressing circle to cancel the popup actually fire the XHB action mapped to the (L2 or R2)+circle slot. This wont be the case anymore then.
    (I'm using my PS3 controller in mixed mode, so I have sometimes my XHB toggled. What I described has happened to me sometimes.

    Not me, but I've gone with some pug groups that use it occasionally after the split, probably with cross healing in mind since the healers are generally directly between both tanks. I'm not a big fan of using it on that fight though. I could see there being a problem on ADS, but other than that... kinda pointless skill in BC when your doing so much spam healing on tanks lol

    i can understand the Medica II thing more now. it does cause a ton of enimity. so not having to use it as often is nice. i just hope it will still be a viable spell.


    Thunder

    i was always under the impression SMN had lower DPS. i hear many complaints. like they have a long ramp up time. so only do well in exalted fights. (only what i hear) oh well. i am sure it is fine. some people probably exaggerating.



    Damage over Time

    OH! i know what i was missing here. the Flaming Arrow must had been BEFORE the status effect. cause i am WHM. if i sleep an enemy and use Aero they wake up from the base potency damage. but if you use Aero first they will stay sleeping.



    Resistance Counter

    i see. makes sense.



    Link Bonus

    @Rune_Crystalblade. i think the "ement" is cut off only on your end. :/

    okay i understand now. lols they are vague and could had said chain bonus instead of link bonus. no worries though. and thank you



    NPC Trade


    but the game already tell you how many items the NPC wants in the trade. it tells you a number in the place holder for the item where you give it to the NPC. maybe i am just missing something here.


    Pet Modes

    oh maybe i am thinking of something wrong then, have not played ACN much. but i really liked how i could initiate an attack with one of the actions. and the Carbuncle would only use Gust. (thought it was Obey. the other red one that is not Sic) but with Sic it would use Gust and the other action that applies a knockback.

    i don't know. we will just have to see.

    i totaly get what you say here. however there seems to be a confliction.

    if LB = L1 then what do they mean by L1 + LB? this should make zero sense. mayeb SE made a typo. also if LB/RB = L1/R1... what would holding L1+R1 do? that does absolutely nothing as far as i know.

    With the text commands, you can perform the animation for an emote without having it show in other's logs by adding "motion" to it. E.g., typing "/panic motion" without the quotes. This checkbox will let you do the same thing (use the animation without spamming anyone's chat log) via the emote window.

    They just should have used slashes or something. They mean LB or L1, depending on the type of controller you're using. Obviously you can't hold LB and L1 at the same time, they're the same button on different controllers.

    hm. well i have not done any tradecraft leve's. so i wouldn't about shards and them. but i have done fieldcraft leve's starting from like Lv1~3 all the way up to 50. and i don't recall ever getting any shards. though maybe they are given and just not stated in the log. will have to pay attention to this next time playing.

    and then again maybe SE really means tradecraft and not fieldcraft leve's.


    as for the other two things. i really didn't expect anyone to have an exact answer for those. but it was worth bringing up i thought.
