Well this will certainly put the steam back into the Gilfarmer market. Which is so odd... recently only one gilfarming site seems to have survived the supposed RMT holocaust... they stand to make a heck of a lot of money pretty soon. Must have a guardian angel.

Lol, this mindless gil grind is just a gimmick to get people to play for another 3+ months till the next patch where there will actually be progression for players who have ilvl 90 everything.

And before you even say pvp, don't hold your breath, it's just gunna be world of bardcraft.

I can't wait till they announce that they will never have player housing, only a inn room in a FC house, that's when the shits gunna hit the fan.

FFXI we had a mog house/room. Anyone that had played knows what i'm talking about. I would rather have an instanced one room place that i can decorate, invite friends/FC members inside all for the price for what..free? Id be happy just to have this as an option. FFXIV housing is more complex, so to pay for something like this is fine but at the prices shown even if the land devalues its still not reasonable for most players. People have different playtimes, some can game for hours upon hours everyday garnering them more money while others with smaller playtimes do not have the luxury. Come up with a different solution that doesn't discriminate regular and legacy players/servers. Rich or poor id prefer lower flat rates for all players. With individual housing coming in 5-6 months why even bother getting a FC house in the first place? It will probably take me and other members 5-6 months just to save up for our own personal ones with all the fixings and furniture costs to look foward to.

20,000g per day. So an FC with 10 members will make 200k a day, the cheapest house on Durandal is 40,000,000 . 40,000,000 / 200,000 = 200 days to obtain the smallest house. 30 days (roughly) in a month, 200/30 = over 6 months to obtain the cheapest house on Durandal.

20,000 per day, the most expensive house is 645,000,000, so it'll only take 32,250 days for that FC to obtain that, or with 100 members, 3,250 days, or with 1,000, a year.

Why is everyone overlooking the fact that this is an auction wherein the price decreases over time? It's a pretty big factor and everyone seems to be forgetting it.

@juran: yoshida have already stated that battle class can earn roughly 20.000gils per day and don't hope that the market will help you, on legacy server sel stuff for over 25.000 gils (outside special craft) it's .... meh!
