    Taking new members into Coil.

First I want to open with: DON'T NERF COIL! I've read a lot about people wanting current Coil nerfed whenever they release new Coil content... That mixed with the fact they seem to be aiming for casual gamers right now... and they nerfed AK for no apparent reason...

Anyway, not what I wanted to talk about.

About 2 weeks ago I got my Relic +1 on my BLM. My BLM has full DL, too, and will have some ilvl90 very soon.

The reason for this post, then, is I've never set foot in Coil. A lot of people would consider me a hardcore gamer (I was mocked because I got my Relic +1 and Full DL for both BLM and PLD within a month and then joining a small FC), but I only join casual/small guilds in games because I've had far too many experience with hardcore players who treat anyone slightly weaker than them as complete trash. This means I need to join a group of people I don't know.

While I don't have a problem with that, I have a problem with ruining runs for people I don't know, especially considering the limited access to Coil.

My question is: How likely are you to take someone who has never done Coil before into your Coil group if, for example, one of your members couldn't make it?

I really want to take part in this content (and get gear, obviously) but I'd rather miss out on content than ruin the content for another group. I've watched videos for the first turn and it doesn't seem that hard, but I know the rest can be.

Mention that you are new to Coil. Most group will accept that and teach you through the fight as there is not much to be done as a BLM. If they don't, so be it, move on.

As a Black Mage you shouldn't have any problems. Turn one is hard on healers and tanks, then perhaps anyone who is feeding slimes, which most likely won't be you anyway. Turn two is hard on the healers, tanks and anyone who is involved in a silence rotation. You might be put into a Allagan Rot rotation, but I'm sure you'll do fine. It's a simple game of hot potato. Turn four is the only one where you need to be top of your game, as it's a tough all around encounter; but a constant DPS check.

As Lemon mentioned, just make your group aware that you're new to the Coil. They all had to learn once too.
