Why have arbitrary limits on stuff?

I played FFXI for years, the game was next to flawless... The game play was awesome, the quests/stories where great, everything was well worth the money we paid every month to enjoy FFXI. I really just wish you guys would have done a make-over to that game, instead of keeping it based on PS2 capabilities....

I played FFXIV during beta, and I went out and bought it three days ago. I saw that a lot had been changed, but one thing that I still can't accept is the arbitrary limits on stuff.... I'm limited, by the games design, on the enjoyment I'm able to gain from the game on a per-day basis...

If I grind too much, I'm fatigued and loose skill points... I can't do levequests because there is a [36] hour timer...

I must say, at this stage I would not pay for a subscription... Things really need to be more focused on how the consumer wants to play, not how SE wants the consumer to play.

Well I do think that this is what most people think as well regarding the fatigue system and that is why they are removing it in an upcoming patch (not sure if it will be the next one). Also, just want to correct you that the reset timer for leves is 36 hours ; ;. Wish it was 24 hours lol

Could you immagine if they made a next gen FFXI, keeping everything they have pre-abyssea (missions quests etc) and then expaning on that. They could have a western continent, north pole, south pole, underground world, a whole slew of new summons jobs and abilities, even weapons too

God forbid they want to create something new in an attempt to appeal to more people than FFXI did. If you ask me the biggest mistake they made was making the races look like those in FFXI.
