This isn't an expansion pack, don't compare it to RoZ. Before launch, SQEX said that patches would come every 10 weeks. The server and client instability at launch and the following weeks were cited in Yoshi's most recent LFTP as the reason for the delay to 17 December. As was the case with XI and could be the case for XIV, expansions were about every 18 months.

Others will debate the point, as that is the point of these forums, but we won't see new classes, jobs, or significant areas until an expansion that might come this time next year. Meanwhile, incremental patch content every 10 weeks, 5 times a year, would give us new things to do.

Consistent with XIV 1.x patches, we are now getting about as much new content as the major game patches in the 1.15 to 1.22 series. This fits with the expectation of at least part of the player base, even people who are not defensive fans of the company's every move.
