FFXIV Puts my PC to sleep

i just installed and before the opening scene was over my computer went to "sleep" several times, including during char creation. is there something im missing? it only happens when the ffxiv window is active. everything says its working fine, i scored very high on benchmark.
my graphics card is AMD RAEDEON HD 6770 M.
any idea why this might be happening, and what i may be able to do to fix it?

If you leave your computer on and you walk away for 15 minutes, will it go into sleep mode? If so, it's probably the power saving features of windows and FF14 somehow not telling it that you're active.
Go into your control panel and depending on what version of windows and how you're viewing by it could be:
Power Options
or
System and Security
then Power Options

On mine (Win7) I Have the option to choose different power plans and to change plan settings. Go into change plan settings to see what they're set to. I have mine set to "Put the computer to sleep: Never", but I generally just shut down my computer when I'm not using it.
You being on a laptop probably will want to switch plans to where it doesn't sleep, play the game, then swap plans back. At least have a look at the timers.
