Why isn't land a REAL auction?

Eg.
Free Company 1 bids 2.1mil
Free Company 2 bids 2.8mil
Free Company 3 bids 3.7mil

Free Company 3 wins, nobody bids higher.

WHY YOSHI?

Because if it was a real auction they wouldn't be able to extract the necessary gil from the economy to balance it out and avoid collapse.
This housing system is a method to fix the server's economy.
A real auction wouldn't support that

I think housing for a FC is something to strive for. Not something everyone owns in a week. Also have positive balance on the economy.

this where ppl think that they can get. but nope SE thoughts on this is that only minority will be able to buy it off asap.
