Well, that's how long it will be before anyone buys a house anyway.
So housing isn't a 2.1 feature, it's a 2.2 feature. They just put it in 2.1 patch notes on accident.
That's where we were all confused.
Silly us.

I didn't know the furniture bonus stats were released, where are you getting confirmation that the housing is useless?
Price is high yes, but I'm sure some will buy. Especially if the housing-tied gil buffs etc they mentioned before still exist.
They're GC seal trade-ins, not crafted. Rofl. Check 'new GC items'.
Posted this in response to a similar comment on another thread, thought it was worth putting up here:
Yeah... on Balmung, even after the 50% decrease in 90 days, to get a large plot (just the plot, not the house), you'd have to have between 125-156 members contributing a million gil each. To get a plot anytime sooner than that will cost much more.
I can't think of more than 5-10 FCs on my server that possibly have that many members, and assuming for the sake of argument that their members are all mains with regular gil streams (not alts for RP or whatever), I still can't imagine more than a fraction of those players having more than a few 100k on hand. Maybe 1m, at which point theyd be donating their entire savings.
Indeed, most FC's I've seen of that size (not all, but most) are the kind of roflguilds that tend towards "invite first, ask questions later," so I can't imagine they'd have enough loyal players willing to cough up a million or more to fund this kind of venture.
So.. who exactly is going to be buying these?
Furniture doesn't have bonus stats. While housing will have functional features, this was never advertised to be one of them.
Yoshi P stated, not everything that's coming in 2.1 is in the 2.1 patch notes.
so we will see it about 33 hours. ;-)
dude, it's not that bad, I saw an SS of players completing a treasure map and they got 500 gil, now if we take into account the 18 hour cooldown on treasure maps, you only need about 375,000 days to earn enough for the best house
I can see them using this obscene price gouging as a way to trick people into accepting a lower price, regardless of how ludicrously expensive it still is. Shady salesmen do this all the time, initially state a ridiculous price that no one would bother with, like, oh, 300,000,000+ for a plot of land, then lower it to around 100,000,000. It's still a hefty sum of cash, but now the sucker has the mindset of, "Wow, that's over half off, I haggled the shit out of this guy."
Scam artist gets the price range he really wanted, and the sucker leaves thinking he got a good deal.
