Also to make it clear, despite my complains about the changes and that I feel the balance is being shifted, I also agree that WHM/SCH is still the best team for any content.
I really wasn't going to touch this... but i can't help myself. Perceived OP class? Who said anything about OP. Honestly, sch were always better at single target healing, always better in t5, and perfectly fine with regards to raid healing.
Is so hard to understand that the whm changes might make the class less fun? Sch was always the more efficent healer, but it was broken. With pet fixes, its fine.
SE is trying to force whm to use cure 3. If medica 2 were op (which if you do the math, rouse succor plus fairy aoe is better by far), they could have just added a cooldown.
SE has created a problem. They are trying to force the use of a burst healing spell in a game where mechanics don't require it. So one of two things will happen.
1: Mechanics will stay mostly the same and Cure 3 will still be pointless,
2. Mechanics will require BURST aoe healing and suddenly sch's will be suffering.
Oh look, someone who actually understands what is happening and why people are upset. Neat.Is so hard to understand that the whm changes might make the class less fun? Sch was always the more efficent healer, but it was broken. With pet fixes, its fine.

3. Mechanics will require the strengths of BOTH healers and BOTH will be as needed
Why is this suddenly no longer an option? Mind you I do feel Medica II should have been left alone. As a SCH who enjoys being paired with a WHM I don't like the change either, so I get the aggravation. I just don't feel like the need for WHM is threatened.
Its not, never said it was. Rather i said that sch's were always good, fairy sucked. Now the fairy is fixed, might play that class i've been eyeing for a while.Or a potential third option:

However, df does not make groups with whm/sch. It will take whatever is available. In Crystal Tower even if i form a premade, how can i know if the other groups are balanced properly to deal with mechanics that MAY require both types of healers. Plus honestly, i pug primals through df all the time.
Saying whm/sch is the best is fine, i agree. But its not always available.
It's not. People are just jumping the gun and assuming that it will be. Even before the patch goes live. Which I fail to see how/why people would fuss this much over a patch (will there not be future patches?). It's a shame people are getting this upset. I'm not going to say that the changes aren't a bit shocking but after you work through the initial shock and take a look at the larger picture it really isn't going to be that bad. I feel more sorry for the other jobs that got nerfed to hell than I do for some WHM changes. That's why I'm disappointed in the WHM community atm...
WHM changes aren't going to affect us much. Med II didn't lose strength since it now lasts twice as long (I keep repeating myself). If anything we will now have a longer lasting regen effect. Cure III may still be situational but it has been more or less addressed and (IMO) has been fixed for what it was meant to do. When I run dungeons I rely on more damage abilities then just Holy. I only use Holy when it's convenient for my group and myself. SO nerf on Holy is just w/e in the end. Others can do what they want with their time, but my goals are gonna stay the same. I'm going to remain WHM to the end and be the best that I can be at it. Regardless of nerfs/buffs.

From notes:
When multiple characters are playing the same class/job in a party, the gauge for level 2 and level 3 limit breaks will now fill more slowly than before.

I love how everyone defending the gimp status of White mage's all main Scholar. I am a scholar main since day one of ARR and will be tilt he day my character dies virtually from my leaving the game but I am not blind at the woe of the white class right now. My Bahamut Coil group uses two Scholars because one was smart enough to reroll white mage seeing this train wreck incoming. Within one month from now if you did a character search of all white mages and scholars you will see the scholar outnumber white mage by 5x. For now the white mage has outnubmered the scholar but that is at an end. Even with the limit break nerf to class stacking the min/max decision will go the double scholar route.

It's not about defending the "gimp" status of the WHM now. It's pointing out that things aren't nearly as bad as WHMs (and you) are making it seem like. Medica II got changed (note I said changed and not really nerfed). It still has it's HoT effect but it got extended over a longer period of time. It does change how a WHM uses the skill but it affects that skill and that skill only.I love how everyone defending the gimp status of White mage's all main Scholar. Here's the key part that everyone seems to be forgetting. NOTHING ELSE ABOUT WHITEMAGE HAS CHANGED. White mages are still going to pour out fatter heals more consistently than SCHs. They're STILL going to raid heal BETTER than SCHs. I'm so sick and tired of WHMs acting like their class got nerfed to the ground when what happened was ONE TINY CHANGE to ONE RAID HEAL. As far as I'm concerned only BRDs and maybe SMNs have a right to be crying rivers of tears.
