I do feel sorry for the White Mage and SE should let people who wasted 3 months capping tomes get a one time item swap to scholar gear but for the foreseeable future White Mages in raids will probably hinder and force Scholars to pick up the slack.

What are you even talking about? The way a White Mage plays hasn't changed at all fundamentally. They're still going to be the go to raid healers. Their single target heals haven't changed at all either. What changed was ONE skill. So how are WHMs suddenly a hindrance? As an SCH I STILL want my WHM partner in raids because I'm not going to be able to patch up my party the same way a WHM can.

If a minor nerf to ONE skill can cause a player base to be so negative, I wonder how the bard community is coping with their nerfs. Not pretty I expect.

Got not much to say, because it won't stop you from switching to SCH, so i wont bother with it .

I wonder though, what got nerfed that is soooooo frustrating that you feel the "urge" to change your class.

It's not really a buff when you never cast the spell to begin with. It's not really a buff when 95% of the time it would be viable to cast the reduction isn't there. It's not really a buff when 6 yalms is still too small to effectively hit anything other than your main target.

Why are you sch getting so mad that some whm are using the armory system as intended to play the new buffed up SCH .

Maybe they want to try playing a job with no mana issues,no threat issues and superior tank and burst healing for a patch.
How does players getting an easy win as a overbuffed healer affect you in anyway?

Lots of paladin tanks are switching to warrior as well. Scholar heals warrior way better then white mage . Since they have lustrate 25% of max hp healed.

I've already discussed it with my Coil group's other healer, I will be switching to SCH because of the nerf to Medica 2 and lolbuff to Cure3. I went through the japanese forums and they are pretty much on the same page as us, upset over the WHM changes. We now bring nothing to the table that a SCH can't, I guess only WHM mains can see that though since ya know we actually play the class.

I was actually reluctant about starting to play on Scholar when I unlocked it, but I'm actually really starting to dig it. I've been playing it mostly in dungeons, and so far it's great! Definatly a different feel from WHM, but I guess thats the point :3

Play both proficiently, then pick the one that is demanded most with the event that is required for. No need to "jump ship" when it's possible to play / gear both up effectively as the only real gear that is not multi-class is the myth pieces and the weapons.

[EDIT] Yes, BiS will affect your final gear choices, but it shouldn't affect your performance that dramatically that it'll cause you fail at your role if you are a proficient player.

Well my white mage is my best geared job, and I love it so no issue there. But I've wanted to level both for those situations when a Scholar might be more useful, or if someone prefers a scholar to white mage.

I'm confused as to why it seems like so many whms are acting like SE broke their class. They didn't. SCHs and WHMs STILL complement each other well. Even with better control over our pets, it's not like we're going to be able to raid heal that much more efficiently. Raid healing will still be and always will be WHMs specialty. What we got was a buff to our MT healing. SCHs have ALWAYS been superior at MT and single target healing. That hasn't changed at all. I agree that the change to Medica 2 is pretty retarded but it's hardly game breaking and is no reason for all you WHMs to suddenly jump ship.

Also WHM/ WHM is still superior to SCH/ SCH regardless of the 5% lustrate buff.

but speaking technically, imo, CureIII is also a nerfed

while, sure, the range got buffed by 2y
and that only make CureIII is niche but nice, from it always being niche but nice

on the other hand, triggered cure3 were better because guaranteed crit, can be used on single target for a little bit boost heal from cure2
while new triggered just reduced halved MP, which almost the same MP consumption as cure2 yet it has less potency
furthure more, when i actually throwing out cure2 is when i need to topped off a single target, not AoE

now that make even less a reason to throw CureIII when triggered, make it even more a niche skill to me
and that's a nerfed
