No Letter from the Producer XI ?

Thats not true. Yoshi said they were going to do a post with videos showing examples of the new battle system in action. That would probably be in letter format, since not every letter changes the schedule plan. Some just talk about the current state of things/upcoming patches, while others are to update people on the next schedule.

Since this week is mid June, i'd say we should get a new letter or at least a new post tomorrow, pre patch notes Tuesday or Wednesday, then the actual patch should hit Thursday...or at least thats the best case scenario.

And that about does it for this letter. For next time, I’m planning to write all about our progress on auto-attack, and hope to be able to present the feature to you in fully animated glory rather than with dull screenshots. (Note to self: have Lodestone crew implement video embedding on the website.)

So why are you still posting here?

They need to blow our minds. They need to not only meet our expectations, but exceed them. This is their first proper update since Yoshida took over and I think they're scared shitless of what we'll think of it.

I seriously doubt they are scared. Most likely just E3 among other things in the way. That and they are/were probably getting the examples of the new system (videos) ready for posting and a fairly long and hopefully accurately translated letter together.

if they are not scared by now then they just do not care about their product. that type of thinking will reflect in later games when people refuse to buy their products.
