FFXIV: The 1 Job at 50 and 8 man FC game.


With coil lockouts, a single character with multiple jobs is a crutch. Multiple characters (One or two level 50's) is ideal so that you can run it a few times each week. I thought FFXIV was founded on the premise that it's a good thing you can level and play all roles with a single character...

With coil lockouts, a FC made of more than multiples of 8 people means someone is getting "benched". (Having 9 friends means someone is getting the shaft. Having a FC of 30 is even worse)

Therefore; everyone does coil on Monday's and takes the rest of the week off.

With Mythology caps so low, and the coming "1 item per week CT lockout" it seems we can only gear 1 job in FFXIV each patch. Further solidifying that they intend you to have 1 class at 50 per character. (Maybe you could gear 2 jobs if you get lucky in coil, but otherwise, you wasted your time leveling anything more than 2 roles)

Crystal Tower parties of 8. More evidence that SE intended FC's to be made of 8 or 16 people from the beginning. (even if you firmly believe they wanted us to be able to 24 man que for it, why the hell wasn't this system designed from the beginning? You seriously never had UI for more than 1 party ready for content that was supposed to be at LAUNCH?)

I feel like this game is punishing people for having more than 7 friends and more than two level 50's.

I leveled everything in a game that touts character diversity, now I'd like the opportunity to use them.
And I want to play with all my friends. Not just 7 of them.

Lockouts are killing us SE.
I don't even want to log in aside from Monday's anymore. And it's been this way for several weeks.
