Feedback needed from Mnks. True Strike damage bugged?

Not sure if there really is a bug. But my impression is that the damage output for a 190 potency move is kinda low?

Im have crit True Strike for 550. But the average non crit (even with GL3) is just around the 350-400. The problem is my Snap punches crit for over 650-700 and my Bootshines (150 potency) are dealing over the 550+ on GL3.

So with this in mind, shouldn't True Strike deal way more damage than either considering it is a 190 potency move? Or is it just me being unlucky?

These results are from 2 ak runs and 1 CT run which I cleared.

Keep in mind that True strike only does increased damage from behind the enemy.

I was running Pharos and having my True Strikes crit for around ~700, consistently higher than my Snap Punches.

It sounds like you are using True Strike from the flank.

My True Strike usually does slightly more than damage than my Snap Punch. Usually over 400 for normal hits and SP hits right under 400. Crits are always what you expect, around 150% damage of that. The 10 potency difference between SP (180 potency) and True Strike (190 potency) will mean they will have a fairly large overlapping damage range.

my Bootshines (150 potency) are dealing over the 550+ on GL3.
Please note that Bootshine is a higher potency attack due to its auto-crit. It is 150(base)+75(50% crit)= 225 potency.

    For clarity's sake -

    Demolish(310 potency) > Touch of Death (270 potency) > Bootshine (225 potency) > Fracture (220 potency) > Mercy Stroke (200 potency) > True Strike (190 potency) > Snap Punc (180 potency)

That's the hierarchy of our highest potency skills. Not sure if Fracture is worth using anymore.

Not doing True Strikes from the flank. Come on now, Ive been monking for 3 months. I know the difference between flank and back. And ya, the damage is what got me worried. It should be doing a whole lot more. But seeing how some of you dont have that problem...I guess its just me being unlucky or something.

I notice at times on my Mnk that as soon as i get into postion and hit my skill the mob can turn which in turn will not give you the potency that it should have. tho it might just be me as well. Try it on some Dummys and see if its still doing the same :P i would but XIV is down for that fate thingy.
