Its more of a Cross-Hotbar versus Regular Hotbar feel.

If you're only using 16 Abilities then Cross-Hotbar on a Gamepad can be nice. However, most PC players in end-game content have 20-30 abilities set up on three horizontal Hotbars. For this reason alone its far superior with a keyboard and mouse. Not to mention the crazy advantages that macro keyboards and macro mice have. The freedom you are given compared to a Gamepad is just too great. There's also the fact that PS3 players without a keyboard have to stand still for 15-30 seconds just to type a basic reply back.

But I'll also point out; if you love playing with a controller then you can use a Gamepad on PC. Heck even PS3 controllers can be used on the PC these days.

I thought as much, about the freedom part. Looking at it from the outside the feel of the game looks a lot less smooth on PC compared to PS3, but also much more intricate and customizable. In other threads when people were describing mouseover macros, I kept drawing a blank on what it meant. Then there's focustarget too, so...

I also looked into that, but it seems like you need to download additional software and pretty much hotwire the thing to make it work right, easier to just use a Windows Xbox controller.
