Housing after Live Letter XI: legitimate impact on smaller guilds, merges, desertion

It seems a strong pressure to merge smaller guilds or break members to join the larger guilds with possibly more indiscriminate recruitment and membership, while not necessarily intentional, I think a reality regardless.

Our guild has a legacy stretching some 15 years or a bit more, perpetually smaller than most and casual with optional RP by decree, but up until now able to establish even the smallest form of housing going forward with plans (and success) for the larger units in the many games we've taken root in.

Now, it seems we must continue without housing until these asinine prices (as I and others deem it, with all their own opinions) are reconsidered, or we simply settle with how the past several years have seen an increase in mass-market and economy fluctuations with RMT playing some part, and ultimately smaller guilds falling more incapable in today's MMO environment.

For those in larger guilds with funding for desired size, truly I wish thee joyous times ^_^

I really think SE doesn't care about smaller groups. We're a small Free Company of up to around 30 active players. I appreciate we don't need a large FC home but this feature went from one we were looking forward to to one which has really upset out group. We're not 1.0 players. The richest person in our FC has 2m gil and that's considerably more than everyone else. The group as a whole feels let down by the pricing on this in part because SE were unable to manage the botting and fake generation of gil at launch.

I agree, I was pretty bummed about it yesterday after expecting it to cost around 1million gil from the earlier statements to now 20 million on my server for the tiniest plot of land. My FC is small and we mostly all close to each other, friendly and helpful so I have no intentions of merging, breaking or moving to a new larger FC where the members are just a number.

Personally I will not even be bothering with FC housing and I'm hoping more people will feel this way and force them to change their totally screwed way of viewing money in circulation to base on the price of a FC house. While there may be massive amounts of money on all these servers most of that money is on 1.0 players, and 1.0 FC so most of that bulk of gil is all within a handful of FC and not on the new players who came to play after 2.0 relaunched.

Same here. Myself and many in our small fc (about 15 active players ) were really looking forward to this, but now it's deeply overshadowed all the other positive stuff if this patch. We've been working hard to make money and we're not even close to the cheapest house.

It really isnt fair to the smaller FCs. I mean I can kinda get if theyre trying to kill RMT somehow... but..this is just excessive and stupid. I'm in the same boat, I have a small knit group, no more then 30 members. We all scrounged up all the gil we could, and managed to get a somewhat decent 3.5 mil. But when I saw this... I almost cried... knowing all that work was for nothing, and now we get left in the cold this holiday season

It's amazing that this was pulled. They may not be saying it, but the message that comes across is "Merge with big name companies." That or get a friend with DEEP pockets, because honestly that's who this feature will be catering to. People who have made a killing and are freaking rolling in the money and Legacy players.

I have a VERY small FC of barely 10 people; we're all friends, and we don't openly recruit. We originally LIKED the idea of FC housing, but now that's quickly turning to hate. Especially since we ended up on a Legacy server. We're double pooched and we can't do much about it. How is this fair to us or to any small company that is mostly just friends?

This entire housing system is a joke. If housing is meant to be "highly prestigious" like someone in another thread put it, I'll accept sitting out in the cold. :/ It isn't prestige, it's flaunting your money. There's a difference between the two, and neither should factor into this sort of thing.

Me and my FC are really bummed. We worked hard to save the 1mil we had thinking that would be enough to a house in the ghetto but now we are trying to figure out how to get more gil but we're not letting this set back mess up the enjoyment of the other new content

As a small 14 member tight fc we were grinding wp and crafting like crazy and got around 1500k of gil for fc house. then i find out we need over 50 mill for a decent sized fc house, we cant get that much anytime soon we would have to grind for gil for atleast a month maybe more just to get a medium let alone a big fc house -_-... are hopes for fc house was destroyed. We no longer are gonna save up for fc house and as players will not accept this kind of treatment from Square Enix. Hopefully they understand this was a wrong move and change it soon, or housing will be dead.. atleast for the small fc's it will be!

Prices are stupid esp on legacy servers. I understand them being higher but you have gone way overboard.

My FC is pretty small as well, with around 8 very active and about 4-6 semi-active members. On our server we can afford the smallest plot if we save up a bit, but it's still rough. I've already been asked if we're going to just mass recruit or merge to get our numbers up merely for a bigger house. The pricing wouldn't be so bad if money were easier to get.
