Datacenter Location after restructuring?

At the moment, Midgarsomr server(s) are located in Montreal, Canada and the typical latency is around ~200 - ~300ms and 18 hops to reach the server farm.

Inside Coils, I get attached to the London, England site and my latency is a around ~600 - ~800ms and 15 hops to reach it.

As a healer, I get instances where my time-critical heals aren't registering especially during turn 4.

Since they are restructuring the datacenters, I have two questions regarding Midgarsomr.

1. Anyone know the new location of the Aether farm?
2. Coils servers changing from London to something a little more local to the States?

This is ridiculous since Midgarsomr is considered a US server and the servers aren't even local...

Yeah I'm a UK player on an EU World thats based in Canada, welcome to FFXIV

I'm hoping they move some EU Worlds to the actual EU, but I wont hold my breath as it would probably cost to much

I think they're not physically relocating the servers, but just rearranging them on the title screen based on population/traffic stats instead of just grouping them by location - there's no information to suggest otherwise.

Also at the moment the servers are only located at Square Enix HQ in Japan, and Montreal Canada (I believe it's hosted at Eidos, given the fact in the end credits 'IT engineers' at Eidos Montreal are credited, but don't quote me on that) - there are no servers in Europe or England at this time. Servers listed as 'EU' are actually the same as the 'NA' ones, as they're hosted in the same place (Montreal).

Yeah, it looks more like it's aimed at reducing the server list queries and probably also at distributing matching processing.
