Really? Reactions to the patch.

I agree, will add a healthy portion to the game, will be things to do every day now and will take a long time to finish it all. Some don't like comparing to FFXI but I see it as part of the company's potential, FFXI had a lot of same players play year after year.

Personally the patch will be a thrill, still haven't decided what to start doing Will be daily things to do and things to do when you're bored (PvP for me probably will be fun when I wanna play but now sure what) etc

9 weeks just to get all the weapons from the primals. Months for the CT gear sets. There is still coil to farm for mains and alts. Pvp.. More quests, more story, more more more.... What about this do people not like?

And on top of all that they are making a bunch of QoL changes.

However, a large portion of the forums (the minority) are wondering what 3 color cupcakes they should send to SE.

This isn't Mass Effect.

Yeah I think 99% if not 100% of the players also are looking forward to it. Just amazed how people on create threads to complain, think SE do a great job and thanks them alot for this huge patch.
Gonna be fun to try it all out!

Very true. Although people were pissed about the ME3 endings, ultimately they were stuck because they already paid for their game and that was that.

With FFXIV however, SE relies on the ongoing subscription income and won't be able to ignore the angry "minority" for too long. Even with Mass Effect they eventually found a (lame) compromise... wouldn't be surprised if SE has to (at the very least) address the issue soon.

All I see that is good coming out of 2.1 Patch is Hildibrand. Everything else is...

most people don't understand that it is much easier to bring the outlying things into central than shift everything in the game up to a new par.

for instance they felt warrior was too far below average and bard and apparently summoner(??) were too far above so they made adjustments to bring everything back into the middle ground.

if they instead buffed everything to match the top performing jobs you would have to re-balance every job instead of just a few and then also have to re-balance all the in game content that was meant to work with the classes that were considered standard and under-performing because every class is now over-tuned for all existing content. The work necessary to balance without including nerfs is almost like rebuilding the entire game

I know nerfs feel horrible but you need to realize you were enjoying being better than everyone else for a long time and these are just meant to bring characters back in line.

ya know the irony in the Crystal Tower not being able to be done with 23 friends is that....its not even Crystal Tower!!!! Its some small 4 winged Ancients place before Crystal Tower. fooled us again didnt they, we get all hyped up about Crystal Tower, YAYYYYYYYY CRYSTAL TOWER!!!!! BAM!!! its not even crystal tower to begin with

This walking one is looking forward to helping dancing ones with their troubles! Helpful one loves dancing ones. ^__^ This one wonders whether dancing ones will recognize helpful one after this one gets a new haircut though!
(I'm sure there are a lot of other people looking forward to all those nice features, lurking about or simply enjoying themselves in-game.)
