FFXIV has stopped working.

When ever I open FFXIV now I never plays. This is not a brand new computer and it was playing it perfectly just a few weeks ago. Is there new requirements I don't know about?

Indeed. Is this error happening when you press Play? Is it happening when it tries to load the splash screen? Character selection? Does it let you in the game before crashing?

It never works right when I click the iron to start up the game. Right when it starts to load It suddenly gives me a message from Windows saying that "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working." There has never been a error but Catalyst has also stopped working if that helps.

Hello, i am having this same issue.

After I enter my login information and being approved, I click the play button and then wait for the client to start up.

I was running the game perfectly fine just a weeks ago with no problems and have been doing so since Beta2.

Earlier in my day i updated my Nvidia 9600M GT to the latest version.


I also patched Final Fantasy XIV, interrupting the patching client one time by cancel and restarting it.

After you click Play, does anything happen? Or does it just sit there. If you get nothing when click play, that's probably an issue with your Internet Explorer setup. Reset your Internet Options to all the default values, and completely clean out your cookies and cache (do it manually, or it won't work; the "delete files" in IE doesn't actually delete them all.)

No, The client actually tries to boot up, flashing a black screen then part of my desktop is blacked out with the dialog box that says FFXIV has stopped working with it trying to look for an error report or something.

I tried your method just incase and no situation changed. Right now I am system restoring to an earlier point in time to before i installed the new nvidia graphics driver

I think you two are having different issues, nonetheless, both of you should post your system specs from the FFXIV Config tool.
