Just go live dangerously in the middle of mob piles like the cool blms, even with the reduced potency, you can crank out a couple hundred (edit: potency) against even small piles. Spam B2 instead of ruin and mourn the loss of your single target glory. (no more thunder, ED instead of extra fester to fuel B2 spam)

Good SMNs already stood in melee all the time, not just for Miasma II from Contagion.

Also, B2 is a net nerf on AoE up to 5 targets, too. Thunder-tab-spam was stronger/gcd.
