Why are SMN being LOADED with spell speed when its next to useless?

Spell speed has no effect on how quick our DoTs tick. It has no (to my knowledge) affect on pets cast speed. It Literally lets us put up our initial dots faster. Then spam ruin faster. Is that really what you intend for summoners to do? Spam ruin. So many caster items are geared for BLM without any consideration to SMN.

I mean at least make our dots tick faster with spell speed so we don't feel like we have a crap-load of a useless stat.

For those who don't know the new ilvl90 books for both PvP (which might be more viable here) and from Extreme primals, has more, you guessed it. Spell speed. So much wasted spell speed, and for what? In most cases, we are swift casting Shadowflare (depending on fight), bio is instant, ruin II is instant, Virus is instant, Eye for an Eye is instant. It literally helps with 3 spells (4 including shadowflare) Ruin, Bio II, Miasma. Sorry I'm not even going to list or consider Tri-fail as a real spell.

Not to mention the changes to Allagan boots to spell speed.

You can navigate and see that ALL the new items minus earrings (non PvP at least) that are ilvl90 have spell speed.

It's probably because all the new primal drops have accuracy as a stat on them.

As Truedragon said. None of those links actually work. Its not about the accuracy thats on them, its the fact that they are coupled with Spell speed. Thats clearly a sign that they gear for BLM and SMN just has to deal with it.

Yeah they are working in the other thread, and I apologize for them not, but only one of them has spell speed, and all the others have accuracy. I still agree that it's useless.

The new ring, earnings and bracelet may be god send to SMN & BLM. Our BiS might be better than before, have to do the math first...xivdb need to update @@

Doing the math myself at the moment.

Considering they're not changing the stats on the boots, BiS can only be better.

Well... since we'll have to spam ruin more, the spell speed won't be as bad as before IMO. It'll be something like ACC til cap > crit > spell speed > det > acc post cap
