Housing, my rant (and on allagan gear changes)

Actually I don't care about housing prices, we all saw this coming. Now that I got your attention this is going to be about changes to allagan gear, especially this.

    Allagan Boots of Casting
    Before: INT+18, VIT+18, Critical Hit Rate+21, Accuracy+15
    After: INT+18, VIT+18, Spell Speed+21, Determination+11

So why take out the accuracy? I worked out some maths, and if I had full allagan gear without the weapon my accuracy will be 418. This means that I will miss on twintania without food enough to really matter, heck I would miss on other turns frequently enough to mess up rotations.

But lets look at myth gear for BLM, if everything was myth my accuracy would be 443. AF+ gets the huge chest accuracy of 34 as well as accuracy on the belt, gloves and boots while allagan now only gets it on the head, pants and ring. This is not taking the weapon into account because without the shield the Allagan scepter really is not a good alternative to the relic. Does SE really want us to miss attacks and not hit the accuracy cap? Do they want us to throw cosmetics out the window and use a mixed set?

443 is well above what I need, and most of the AF+ is flat out better than allagan anyway. I personally hate the look for BLM myth gear, but this change just seemed to make allagan gear less viable and it makes me sad.

If my maths is wrong feel free to correct me, I just woke up lol.

Well we will have to see if the i90 primal accessories may be able to bring us back to our desired accuracy.
If they don't, then we can rage.

I assure you a gay man would rather match than mismatch. Maybe you should use another adjective.

I'm also kind've miffed about the allagan gear changes. I passed so many times on the allagan head piece for healing because it was the same stats as the AF2 hat for scholar. And now it's better for scholar. Wish I could've had a warning or something...

The Vanity system coming in 2.2 (or sooner) is what we'll be using for cosmetics. You choose which items you want to equip for stats and which items you want to be visible for aesthetics. Ie. You can wear a Santa Suit while not having your ilvl90 stats decrease.

As far as the current ilvl90 gear is concerned, wearing one full set of Allagan or one full set of Myth Tome gear is a very bad choice. Paladin for example would be like 60 Accuracy points over the Accuracy cap in he wore all Allagan. This would make him lose 60 of Parry (just a rough guess for arguments sake).

Some Allagan are best in slot, some Myth items are best in slot. You don't really have to worry about that though if you don't plan to run coil. But in Turn 5, every single point matters.

That's where I disagree with design choice, i think picking a single set should be completely viable. As yoshi said they are alternatives to each other depending on how you play, and either should work. I don't care if it isnt optimal but mixed sets look really ugly, and we are a while off 2.2.

And yeah this only really matters in turn 5, which means I'll have to use myth for it in many slots.

Also not to mention if certain allagan pieces are needed in a good T5 setup then we need to have a moment of silence for the victims of bad RNG, like the 2 bards in my group that went 7 weeks with only one bard drop between the both of them, and when one of them left the static the next week 5/6 of the 1-4 drops were for bard.

This is why a single set should work, because it compensates for really freak RNG accidents.
