I logged in early this morning to test the issue again and it looks like Cid has been fixed, I was able to pick up the quest no problem. Thank you very much for your assistance and quick responseGreetings adventurers!
We appreciate you taking the time to report the trouble you are having to us. We have contacted the appropriate people who will look into this concern for you and attempt to fix the unresponsive NPC (Cid) so that he will give you "The Best Inventions" to allow you to progress in the story once more. If it is a concern you are having, we encourage you to post here to ensure we are aware of this, should you run into this on any server other than Excalibur (which has already been escalated as I type this). Thank you very much for your continued support of Final Fantasy XIV and hopefully you will soon be back on your way through the quest in Eorzea!
