Actually 'the' is the definite article. It's literal meaning is 'the only one'. It is the gobbue mount. The only one. If you wished to imply there are others you would use an indefinite article such as 'this Goobbue'.

If they wished not to mislead it should have been

"A Goobbue mount has been added.

Please note that this Goobbue mount...."


They had either originally intended for these to be exclusive or have made a genuine grammar mistake in the original statement, but either way the statement is that Goobbue mounts were exclusive. Now Goobbue mounts are not exclusive.

Now I'm not particularly precious about my Legacy benefits, but misleading statements are not conducive to trust and a happy community. It would be like releasing the Dalamud minion for an ingame event. Those that paid out the nose for the Sound track just for this minion would feel equally aggrieved.
