    Okay, just a guess but I'm thinking that because you upgraded from Windows Vista, there is some setting somewhere that didn't get changed that FF is twigging on. If you have not done so yet, please go to Windows Update and make sure that you have installed all of the updates that are available to you (pay particular attention to Windows 7 SP1), then give it another shot with installing FF14.

    i got the same problem with my new laptop.

    open the cd with explorer. right klick the setup.exe (dunno the name 100%) and select properties, change to compability tab and set "run this program in mode" as windows xp SP3
