You speak of arrogance...like theres NO WAY they made the right choice?right?! because you know better than the people that have ALL the data about the servers,and the people with economy degrees(yes,most mmos hire people with economy degrees to handle the problems of mmo economies)

I know their desicion is not pretty,but given their current hardware limitations( and please dont come with buy more server hurr dur,it isnt as easy)
and the current state of gil in circulation (there are people with absurd amounts of gil),they did the not so nice,but correct desicion in the long run.
of course there could have been differend desicions,in fact if there could be an infinite amount of instances,pricing wouldnt be so much of a problem,because the gil would be sunk away anyway because there would be an unlimited amount of lands to purchase.But infinite is not the case right now.Its finite.

crafting and selling the items I crafted, harvesting is also pretty easy.

that said make u wonder if selling stuff is gonna become harder, bc ppl r gonna be more careful with spending now to save for that house

and dont get me wrong.. even as CUL i make the repair and tele gil back easy.. i just dont see how my 15member FC can make 30m.. is going to take us like well... a looong time.
i know is going to drop, but dunno if then the ll run out of mediums..

So it boils down to limited instances of land; how many total plots for each size are available per server are we talking about here?
The problem with this entire housing fiasco is the simple requirement for buying land ie: only gils and rank 6.

If there are more requirements like number of memberships and number of FC points for each size of land then there would be less chances of hogging.
For example, make it so that Medium requires at least 100 members and 1mil FC points, and Large requires at least 300 members and 2 mil FC points. Get those data and see how many FCs are eligible and price the lands out accordingly.

Using only 1 unit of measure (ie: gils) cannot be a true reflection of Free Companies where there are much more dynamics involved than just wealth.

It seems weird to place the cost of something so high for a free company when there isn't even a reason to NEED a free company in the first place. Everything in the game can currently be done in pick up groups, even Coil. With no discernible benefit for this costly housing other than playing with furniture arrangements, it has left many confused and angry that you would price out so high something that was essentially FREE in FFXI. I understand that there are future plans in the works for FC housing, like building and FC airship... but until that stuff happens, likely a year from now, I just don't see why anyone would bother spending the money on ANY property, let alone buying up multiple plots of land. Also, why not just place a restriction of one plot of land per user/account or FC? I mean, I can tell a lot of careful consideration went into this pricing, but it just feels like it was made by someone that doesn't even play the game.

Who's planning to play this game long term just to get housing?

I mean, it's basically saying pay to play this game for another 3 months so you can have this feature.
I dunno about you guys, but an MMORPG for me is not about getting cheated for my money. If I'm paying for every month of play in this game I want my money's worth. I want to have a FUN experience. GRINDING is not fun Square Enix, this is not real life! It's a bloody video-game for Christ sake.

People are gonna start jumping ship, not because of housing.
But because you have to put in a considerable amount of time and effort into this game, only to get screwed over later.

I have a simple question of clarification about the proposed policy change:

• The final price of land on all Worlds is subject to adjustments, and may fall lower
• Over the course of three months, prices on legacy Worlds will fall to match those of World Group 3
• Personal housing will be far more affordable than free company housing

Does this mean that, after 3 months' time worth of depreciation, the legacy world houses will match World Group 3's STARTING VALUES? Or that, after 3 months' time worth of depreciation, the legacy world houses will match what World Group 3's houses have DEPRECIATED TO?

You know what, I agree with Yoshi on this. He says that 80% of FC's will be able to afford a house in 3 months’ time – challenge accepted, it’s doable if you put some effort in. Honestly the majority of people on these forums complain about everything from content to how the game isn’t that difficult, how it’s boring to do this, that and the other and yet when you're presented with a challenge such as saving up to acquire a FC Home - what do you do? Complain again that it’s too difficult, that it’s priced too high, it’s not fair, not viable blah blah blah honestly it’s pathetic. Its embarrassing reading posts on these forums, if you want it bad enough you will work hard to get it if not then shut up and wait for the price to come down.

just one issue with that..imo
they have to see 1st how many FC actually have 100members.. most are around 30-40 (mine is not a sample, i think we r pretty small, our goal was to get 30-40 members, but hasn't happen)..
the small house is more a individual house
and a FC of 100 members kind of remove the fun of the house.. after all how much talk would u have in decorating 4 rooms when u r 1/100 and maybe even the ine that can only play 4/7 days 5-8h?

you do know that legacy server houses...

I know legacy server and non-legacy server houses are not the same. That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

My point is that on legacy servers you have people who came into 2.0 loaded and/or took advantage of the AH early on and are now sitting on hundreds of millions of gil and inflating the prices of housing. New characters on legacy servers facing 40mil costs for small, grade D plots are not going to be able to get a FC house for months, while rich 1.0 players are gonna be able to get amazing plots right this second. For non-legacy players that are in just average sized FC's, this housing patch won't even matter for several months. At least 4 mil for a small plot on a new server is within reasonable reach.

I'm not the type to complain about things that I have no control over, so I'll simply say this. I'm in a Free Company with 4 real life friends. I think I'll get 1 more friend on in January so that's 6 people in my FC. I want the best I can get so that's 100 million for the largest on Goblin. I don't think I'll be seeing it anytime soon. I won't give up of course, but wow. I don't even have an estimate of how long it's gonna take. I'm on Titan HM and I have 250k. So my 1st step is to get 1 million. Then do that 99 more times. Well not literally because the other 5 members will help out, but you get my point. Anyways, like I said. Can't change it so no use complaining. Time for work lol!
